45974. judithathome - 8/31/2015 8:36:29 PM Fact Check for Scott Walker
In the 2013 Fiscal Year:
376 Canadians who had a criminal record when they were deported from coming into the country, assuming some of those Canadians crossed the border illegally. (For comparison, 146,298 Mexicans with a criminal record were deported.)
793 Canadians were found to have broken immigration laws (including those above with a criminal record) and deported. By comparison, 314,904 Mexicans were deported.
822 Canadians were arrested for all offenses, compared to 424,978 Mexicans. Or a ratio of 1:517.
Building the Canadian border wall over twice the length of a Mexican one would cost somewhere between $20 to $33 Billion!
And they could still take a plane flight over it rather easily! 45975. judithathome - 9/3/2015 7:58:14 PM And now for something completely different: an excellent editorial by Kareem Abdul Jabbar about Trump...make sure you read the link he provides to Trumps rather junior high schoolish retort! This Is The Difference... 45976. winstonsmith - 9/4/2015 11:16:17 PM It feels perverse that I love seeing Trump bully and belittle Jeb when I know that, of the Republican candidates, Jeb would probably make the best president. Jeb may recover and gain the nomination but I really believe the guy has been damaged by Trump. 45977. arkymalarky - 9/5/2015 2:34:04 AM Winston!
I think Jeb is ditw: dead in the water 45978. winstonsmith - 9/5/2015 7:11:28 AM Hi Arky,! yes, ditw. At the moment anyway.
Here's a question, would it be crazy for Hillary to run with Berie as her veep? I don't think he can deliver a state or anything but he has been careful to not attack her and some people would come out to vote for him. 45979. arkymalarky - 9/5/2015 10:15:30 AM I love the Bern, but I don't think he'd help the ticket in the general. 45980. arkymalarky - 9/5/2015 10:17:32 AM I love the Bern, but I don't think he'd help the ticket in the general. 45981. judithathome - 9/5/2015 6:10:07 PM I doubt he would accept it, anyhow...he can do more good in the Senate, seems to me, that shoved away in the corner of the Veeps office.
Besides, I think it would be a slap in the face to her own party...he is, after all, an Independent. 45982. winstonsmith - 9/6/2015 6:33:52 AM Yeah, I suppose so. Hopefully he will remain on good terms with Hillary and his supporters won't lose all their enthusiasm. 45983. judithathome - 9/6/2015 9:55:52 PM One thing I admire about Bernie is that he is not going the Republican route and trashing his opponent...the Republicans resemble The Hunger Games..out for blood and no holds barred. 45984. Ms. No - 9/8/2015 4:45:39 AM Okay, I feel kind of dumb, but what is the Conservative equivalent of HuffPost or Slate? (Other than Fox news)
And I mean something at least as legitimate, not some TeaParty Birther nonsense. 45985. Ms. No - 9/8/2015 4:46:24 AM Not that Huffington and Slate don't have substantial liberal bias, but mostly they don't just make shit up. 45986. iiibbb - 9/8/2015 4:43:04 PM Politico maybe 45987. judithathome - 9/8/2015 5:01:49 PM Weekly Standard and National Review... 45988. judithathome - 9/8/2015 9:48:15 PM Well, Arky...I hope you saw this...that asshole Huckabee was front and center in this bullshit: Jerk Who Defied the Supreme Court and Refused Marriages To Couples Even Though She's Had FOUR of Them: FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST...Thank God Almighty, I Am Free At Last To Deny Anyone Else the Right I Have Had FOUR TIMES To Marry Whom I Want... 45989. Ms. No - 9/8/2015 11:48:03 PM Thanks you guys! I felt really bad not having more conservative options on offer when I put together my media resources list for my Gov't class. 45990. arkymalarky - 9/9/2015 12:30:31 AM Oh yeah. Poor guy can't get any love and attention in such a big field of nut job candidates. He's just one of the nuts. Now that he gave up his TV show and can't sell any of his books, he may just have to go to the house after this is over. 45991. judithathome - 9/9/2015 10:21:43 PM Huckabee is shameless...I love how he had is minion coldcock Ted Cruz from taking the stage with the POOR PUT-UPON Evangelical nutcase in Kentucky yesterday! 45992. arkymalarky - 9/9/2015 11:23:03 PM He's always been like that, and in AR it got really old. I'm just now starting to see people tire of it nationally. One reason is he simply can't keep hispettiness in check. 45993. Ms. No - 9/10/2015 12:44:06 AM Judith, I think you meant cock-block, although I'd pay good money to see somebody coldcock Ted Cruz. ;->
