Arx -- I totally get it. I was quite dismayed a few months ago when I realized that two of my internet usernames had not only been associated with one another, but also with my real name. It's not like I was plotting to take over the world or anything, but I've got students who don't need to know that much about me.

46368. arkymalarky - 4/6/2016 5:52:05 PM

Exactly. I really just don't Like Google's to Hell with you everything is our business attitude, along with several other big tech companies.

46369. arkymalarky - 4/6/2016 5:57:18 PM

It's like trying to force me into google plus. The more They pushed common the more determined I was not to be in it. Microsoft and apple are no better. It's the main reason I got off Facebook (That, and Evidently too many idiots are my friends And family ), though I figure I'm gonna break down and get back on it before long. I never have been good at compulsory anything, Especially when I feel like I'm supposed to be the consumer and should be calling the shots of what I want to do or not do .

46370. arkymalarky - 4/6/2016 5:59:14 PM

It's also why I'm not impressed with apple's righteous failure to share anything with the government about people's phones. Don't share, but don't act like you're operating from a position of moral Superiority .

Seems like Cruz is gaining ground. He would present a different risk profile for the Republican Party and the Democrats.

46372. arkymalarky - 4/6/2016 11:25:03 PM

Nobody but him expects he would win the general election.

46373. arkymalarky - 4/6/2016 11:26:30 PM

With all the contested convention talk, I find it extremely telling that none of the party leadership suggests that it should go to cruz. They all talk about outside candidates.

46374. winstonsmith - 4/7/2016 5:59:41 PM

I can't recall which pundit said this but it it was something like "they all hate Cruz but at least they know what they would be getting. Trump is totally unpredictable."

46375. winstonsmith - 4/7/2016 6:02:33 PM

The guys point was that they could plan for how to handle Cruz but could not predict how to best protect their down-ballot candidates and brand from Trump.

46376. judithathome - 4/8/2016 4:08:19 AM

Just what we need...a pompous asshole who has proved he hates our government.

46377. arkymalarky - 4/8/2016 4:59:15 PM

They could start by holding scotus hearings. McConnell is so loathsome.

46378. arkymalarky - 4/8/2016 5:01:59 PM

They can blame Trumpp, but they created this monster and I don't think they can switch its head and change their circumstances. I think they'll lose down ballot with Cruz, but he is their only hope of not looking like nihilistic threats to the government.

46379. iiibbb - 4/8/2016 8:26:25 PM

Trump is currently a monster of the Republican's creation.

If either Trump or Cruz get elected they will be monsters of the "progressives" creation.

46380. Ms. No - 4/11/2016 5:21:22 AM

Much as I loathe the idea of President Trump, he doesn't scare me as badly as Cruz. When all is said and done, Trump will do what is "best for business" which will involve a lot more compromise than he's required to show while campaigning. Cruz is a zealot who cannot be reasoned with.

46381. arkymalarky - 4/12/2016 11:21:14 PM

I just don't like Dick, I mean Mark Halperin. And it didn't help that he had campbell brown co-hosting their stupid show yesterday. If MSNBC isn't careful, this capital L liberal is about to start turning them off, even in the middle of election season.

46382. wabbit - 4/14/2016 12:44:57 AM

Have to agree with Ms. No about Trump/Cruz. If those were my only choices, I'd have to go with Trump. I think he could be somewhat moderated. Cruz, no, I think he's a religious zealot at best with no interest in compromise. If I want to live under a theocracy, I'll move.

What are we these days, a fiefdom, a plutocracy...?

46383. Ms. No - 4/15/2016 12:14:37 AM

Corporatocracy -- is that a kind of oligarchy? I suppose.

46384. winstonsmith - 4/15/2016 1:51:10 AM

For me, Cruz would be the worst. Just an insufferable sanctimonious ass.

Four years of his face/voice on the TV would be too much.

46385. arkymalarky - 4/15/2016 9:59:11 PM

I agree with Lindsey Graham, though he picked his method. It's just too frightening to contemplate either way.

46386. judithathome - 4/16/2016 10:44:23 PM

Tried four times yesterday to post something and it didn't go through...I give up.
