46503. arkymalarky - 9/20/2016 2:14:06 AM Young people need to be told loudly and often the most of Bernie Sanders ideas got adopted in the Democratic platform, and that in 2000 it didn't work to go with a third party and it would be disastrous this time as well. That's where a lot of the dangerous for young people. This made me feel better though:

If Obama does what he did Saturday night at the Congressional Black Caucus dinner, that is the best thing that could happen for election day. And Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders are doing so much. That, and as soon as the trumpster gets any slight indication he's in the lead he starts acting like an idiot again. Between Hillary's pneumonia and Trump's teleprompter, this is really looking bad, but he's back to his SOS and Hillary obviously just fine physically. 46505. arkymalarky - 9/20/2016 2:23:18 AM And I'm busy at work, busy at home, and I'm about to be a grandma, and I'm just not going to spend the next two months despairing over this election. I'm going to the meetings, talking to people, I will take the day off and drive people and make phone calls and whatever I have to do, and then vote. That's all I can do. If everybody else does the same, I think we'll be all right. That assumes the media's going to continue doing its job like it has been ever since trump made chumps out of them all with a publicized Hotel tour. It's all going to come down to turn out and ground game.
The biggest possible slap in the face to the African-American Community would be to elect a birther-in-chief to succeed our first black president. 46506. arkymalarky - 9/20/2016 2:25:06 AM Ha! That link makes me feel better, too, but i meant to link this:

The other one is my dream Grandma car. 46507. iiibbb - 9/20/2016 6:04:06 PM Let me just say that talking politics with this whole Hillary is as bad as Trump crowd is fucking maddening... not the trolls... the <30y crowd that actually believes it.
"[Don't like climate change? Well maybe the Democrats should have thought of that when they made Clinton their candidate]"
"[You're just trying to scare me about the nuclear risk. Clinton is the real war hawk. Democrats should have thought of that when they made Clinton their candidate]" 46508. judithathome - 9/20/2016 6:28:59 PM Not that polls mean anything but Hillary jumped 5 points ahead since two weeks ago.
Even sick in bed and off the campaign trail for 4 days, she beats Trump in a new poll by 5 points and he has been on TV bloviating sometimes three times a day and tweeting incessantly the entire time.
46509. judithathome - 9/20/2016 8:22:56 PM Okay, in the old adage "The acorn doesn't fall far from the poisoned and bigoted oak"...this Trump Jr. Skittles trope is just digusting.
Trump Jr. Compares Skittles to Syrian Refugees 46510. judithathome - 9/20/2016 8:54:02 PM Here is really excellent rebuttal (from a poster on my forum in Talkalot) to Little Trump's ridiculous Skittles comments:
IN REALITY, statistically there are very few terrorist attacks compared to the millions of Syrians so a more True example would be 3 poison treats in a Swimming Pool of Skittles to represent the millions in Syria. And you can't just walk away, because then one Skittle says "America doesn't care" forms the Islamic State, and invades the Swimming Pool of Iraq Skittles next door! Then you have to immediately put barriers in the Iraq swimming pool so it doesn't spread, fish out the 125,000 Christian Skittles, and then slowly move in the barriers in that Iraqi Pool of Skittles before you can even get to the Syrian Pool of Skittles, which is really controlled by former Optometrist and current Dictator of the Swimming Pool of Syrian Skittles Bashir al Assad, who is working with Vladimir Putin, ruler of the Olympic Swimming pool of Russian Skittles to whom Trump probably owes money to. Oh, and while you were doing that, the terrorists really came from the swimming pools full of skittles for Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, and Saudi Arabia.
So what was this about skittles, Donald Jr? 46511. arkymalarky - 9/20/2016 9:30:15 PM He's getting most everything he posts from alt right and white nationalist sutes. TPM has an interesting article on that today. The Skittles thing came from them. 46512. iiibbb - 9/21/2016 1:19:23 AM J@H
I rad today that skittles was co-opted by the alt-right after the Trayvon Martin shooting. It's apparently a slur against people of color and meant to throw salt in wounds. 46513. iiibbb - 9/21/2016 4:42:36 PM On another place I got in this strange back and fourth with about skittles with an obtuse clinton=trump voter and my finale was this haiku.
Let Trump eat Snickers
Nuclear fire will rain
Vote for her you twats 46514. iiibbb - 9/21/2016 4:42:48 PM I'm rather proud of it. 46515. judithathome - 9/21/2016 7:42:41 PM Very, very good!! but middle line is one syllable short for traditional haiku. However, flexibility in all things rules! 46516. iiibbb - 9/22/2016 5:47:57 PM Nu-cle-ar..... I was being particularly ironic. 46517. judithathome - 9/22/2016 7:56:16 PM I get that...but it is still a line with SIX syllables instead of seven. The scansion of haiku is three lines, 5-7-5. That's all I'm saying.
I think it was very clever...and was just making an observation. 46518. iiibbb - 9/22/2016 8:15:15 PM Nu-cle-ar fi-re will rain 46519. iiibbb - 9/22/2016 8:16:07 PM I miss you guys, but I'm having some fun elsewhere. 46520. iiibbb - 9/22/2016 8:16:54 PM Some claim I'm being a little disrespectful of protest voters...
... well yes.... I am.
I may hold them in lower regard than I do actual Trump voters. 46521. arkymalarky - 9/23/2016 1:57:23 AM Very nice local Democratic Gathering, and the former Governor Bebe spoke, and the candidate for Senate, and local rep candidate, and there were lots of people there. Saw quite a few people I know, and everybody was very positive and it was just a really good vibe. I've never been to one, but my friend who was there said it was a really good crowd for that kind of democratic rally there. 46522. arkymalarky - 9/23/2016 2:00:12 AM One thing I can say for here is I don't see any Trump signs. A nut that I drive by on my way to work as a hand-done sign in his yard that says boo killary klinton had a trump sign, but it's gone now.
