Some claim I'm being a little disrespectful of protest voters...

... well yes.... I am.

I may hold them in lower regard than I do actual Trump voters.

Very nice local Democratic Gathering, and the former Governor Bebe spoke, and the candidate for Senate, and local rep candidate, and there were lots of people there. Saw quite a few people I know, and everybody was very positive and it was just a really good vibe. I've never been to one, but my friend who was there said it was a really good crowd for that kind of democratic rally there.

One thing I can say for here is I don't see any Trump signs. A nut that I drive by on my way to work as a hand-done sign in his yard that says boo killary klinton had a trump sign, but it's gone now.

46523. judithathome - 9/23/2016 6:42:44 PM

"boo killary klinton"

Sounds like a gun fondler for whom Trumps second amendment remarks rang true...

Hillary has a new ad out showing young girls looking into their mirrors while Trumps disparaging remarks about women play in the background...at the end, this fills the screen: "Is this who we want for our daughters?"

Very powerful ad!

I hate stuff like this:

Best president in my lifetime. When he leaves office they need to make an album of his speeches. I just hope we don't go from the sublime to the ridiculous.

Seeing President Obama at the opening of that museum today almost made me weep...I love the way the other day, he "suggested" that Donald"blacks are worse off today than at any time in history" Trump had missed many civics lessons and that there was "a museum just down the street" that could refute those comments.

In other words, Donald, you are dumber than shit.

I meant to say this while back and I've been busy, but I really think 3i3b that the Clinton equals Trump posters are actually Trump trolls. Everybody was talking about being Rick rolled, and I think this election season they need to talk about being trump trolled. I think we were trump trolled in the international thread a few days ago.

Everything is going to come out this time to turn out, and the combination of Clinton and Obama and sanders and warren will hopefully land a good result November 8th. I gave money to the Obama campaign in 08, but I've never officially volunteered to work on GOTV and registration until this election. If people show up Hillary will win, nothing changing otherwise. Looking at past elections and polls leading up to election day, and debates, nothing about this one stands out in a way that does not lean toward Hillary. 50% of Americans think Trump is racist. I don't think 50% of Americans are racist, or certainly Obama's approval wouldn't be well over 50% right now, and I don't think a lot of people who are on the fence will pull the lever for him when it comes down to it.

Course I don't know any more than anyone else does, but I don't see anything in the trends that stands out in any way from past elections. 538 has it uncomfortably close, but they never had Trump ahead, and I frankly don't really get where they're coming from. They have a way lower Hillary percent then New York times or Huffpost or Real Clear Politics averages, for that matter. I will not be watching the debate tomorrow night, though. I cannot cannot cannot. I'd rather watch a Friday the 13th Marathon.

Per above, see International:

Jeez, that link you posted even made it over to Hawaii...my sister, who will delete my emails (unread) if they look anywhere NEAR to something discussing politics...somehow read that Washington Post article and freaked the eff OUT...I have been trying to tell her, in little dribs and drabs, that Trump could easily win this thing but to see it in black and white from a SOURCE that she isn't realted to just blew her mind.

46530. judithathome - 9/25/2016 7:40:58 PM

I am definitely watching the debate...hell, I watch cable news from the time I get up until 9PM at night...since I don't go to bed until 3AM every "night". I have plenty of time to watch regular TV stuff that I tape during prime time...one day, Keoni is going to that huge golf course in the sky and they will find me long gone and cold with the remote in my hand and a shitload of taped stuff that I was watching when the "big one, Elizabeth" hit me.

46531. judithathome - 9/25/2016 7:48:40 PM

I think we were trump trolled in the international thread a few days ago.

I think you are correct, ma'am!

46532. arkymalarky - 9/25/2016 8:41:39 PM

He just uses a Formula though. He doesn't even look at polls so in a situation like this one where he says it's incredibly close with his formula he's hedging his bets. I don't take it very seriously.

46533. arkymalarky - 9/25/2016 8:45:28 PM

I watch politics when I get home from work, but I also have other things going on that are more pressing right now, and I do check certain websites at work, particularly 538. Obsessively. I've got a baby blanket I need to get crocheted between now and election day.

46534. arkymalarky - 9/25/2016 8:48:47 PM

She seems to think that posting from ant alt right tabloid British side is somehow more credible than the American sites that spew this stuff all the time.

46535. arkymalarky - 9/25/2016 9:28:16 PM

I think Hillary Clinton's best ad strategy would be to focus on her with children, and seeing pictures of her with kids just puts a smile on your face automatically; also her promotion of women's rights, starting with her statements that women's rights are human rights. I think they ought to really hone in on her strengths and not try to focus on what a nut job Trump is. Everyone knows what a nut job he is. But they need to know is why they should vote for her, and not in contrast to him but as who she is.

46536. arkymalarky - 9/26/2016 12:16:37 AM

Wow, I can't believe how quickly she took my advice! Commercial I just saw with her going from the earliest to now on children was the best I've seen yet.

46537. winstonsmith - 9/26/2016 6:32:17 AM

I were Clinton, I would be tempted to say something like this right out of the gate:

As you may know, the Trump caimaign has been pressuring the moderators to not fact check the debates and I just want to say, please, moderators, media and everyone at home, please fact check everything Donald and I say.

46538. arkymalarky - 9/26/2016 1:11:41 PM

Agree

Data says the under 30 crowd is skeptical of Clinton. Facebook feed is populated by a variety of under-30's and it has been voiced more than once by artsy-fartsy friends of friends (read low-information voters).

These people were between 6 and 12 when Bush was last elected and between 2 and 8 when Nadir was in play.

So...

...no I'll admit I'm a little bit of a hypocrite because I did vote for Bush in 2000 because I was all Clinton fatigued...

But... I also think the stakes are much much higher than they were then given the makeup of Congress and other factors.
