"plus attempts by both Republican and Democrat leaders to undermine the elected President, plus media efforts to incite violence"

I didn't notice you scolding anyone for the eight years that the Republicans tried to undermine and depose the duly elected President Obama.

We wrote rules into our Constitution for the removal of the Chief Executive in the event that such proves unfit for office. Nowhere in the Constitution does it say "Well, you fucked up and now you have to live with it."

Not speaking up when one disapproves of elected authorities is a dereliction of your duty as a citizen of a Democracy.

It's only fascist states where you have to shut up and take it or suffer the consequences.

One of a dime a dozen stories in the Trump age. And they were pretty frequent before.

Interesting article explaining the origin and source of Miss BS's latest hair on fire paranoid fearfest. wonder if she's in her hidey-hole yet. Of course her MO is to post outrageous racist offensive material with the creepy candy coating of reasonable sounding diction and then Slither out when she's called on it. It'll be interesting to see if she comes in November 5th.

It's not showing up on my phone, so I hope my post didn't Jack with the margins.

...that cheesy picture of Manuchin and his doxy wife at the US Mint holding the sheet of dollar bills: it should have been captioned, "These "ones" are for YOU!"

edit: I think from here on out, when we come into possession of paper money with his name on it, we should mark through his signature. Just a thin line with ballpoint pen...a blue ballpoint.

(this is wabbit posting for JaH)

47152. winstonsmith - 11/19/2017 11:36:29 PM

Ha! I like the idea of crossing out his name.

47153. Ms. No - 11/20/2017 9:34:35 PM

I think that is an awesome idea!

Can we start a social media campaign?

47154. wabbit - 1/6/2018 11:39:43 PM

Those who know me, picture me doing my very best Valley Girl...omg, I don't know why people diss the prez, he's, like, really smart.

omg, gag me with a spoon, could this narcissistic twit be more insecure?

47155. arkymalarky - 1/8/2018 12:26:44 AM

I've never seen anything like it in the way the Republicans are beginning to respond to it in Congress is starting to be a huge concern. I can't Envision anybody seeing him any other way than described in that book, and when people claim that they do I just assume they think that whatever it takes to get their agenda no matter what. They don't care about their country they don't care about their friends and family all they care about controlling everything by whatever means necessary to get whatever they want. Thinking of all of that, I wonder where our Little Soviet troll went to?

47156. Ms. No - 1/8/2018 6:41:31 PM

I have completely abandoned the news. I just keep my head down as much as I can and ignore it. I know that doesn't mean it goes away, but for my mental and emotional health, I just can't watch.

I have more immediate concerns to occupy my time ---- finally closed on the new house!

There is an amazing timeline at billmoyers.com which blew what little of my mind the flu has not yet savaged. It is a lengthy post but worth scrolling through. At least for this junkie. Paired with Mueller's indictment it tells quite a story of The Donald's big adventure.

47158. robertjayb - 2/17/2018 10:06:29 PM

text of the indictment:

47159. arkymalarky - 2/19/2018 5:03:45 PM

Robert! You take care of yourself. Lately all I can think is that it's become obvious this is a battle royale between mueller and Putin. This indictment shows that, and the Turning of gates and how everything is rolling out from muellers investigation. And the timeline, starting with the Miss Universe Pageant, gets more and more obvious by the day. We've been had in the biggest way. Apparently Putin formulated the seed of a plan in 2012 after Russia's been trying to infiltrate our system by any means necessary short of open Conflict for years.

47160. winstonsmith - 3/27/2018 5:50:44 AM

Saw this astute analysis online: “The dilemma is who do you believe? A bleached-blonde with droopy breasts or Stormy Daniels?”

47161. Ms. No - 3/27/2018 8:16:14 PM

Ha! Love the title!

47162. wabbit - 4/1/2018 10:04:05 PM

Does anyone else think that Ted Nugent and Frank Stallone should just get it over with and get married already?

Happy Easter everyone!

47163. wabbit - 4/1/2018 10:04:52 PM

Good to see you RJB and winstonsmith!

47164. Ms. No - 4/3/2018 5:06:48 PM

I'm wondering how many small-government, anti-fed meddling, authoritarian-State fearing conservatives are going to speak up about the way the current administration is singling out specific states to punish financially for being openly critical of said administration?

How many good conservatives are going to stand up and say "Hey, it's an abuse of power to raise taxes in some states but not others based on which way they voted in the election."

Which of them will stand up and say "It's within a state's rights to set higher regulations on businesses within its borders if it wants to; Big Government should butt out. Afterall, the Market will determine whether or not the state is making a wise choice."

Or will they all just sit around and circle-jerk each other in glee that those uppity liberals in California and New York are finally getting what they deserve.

I'm thinking that maybe California and New York should take their money and go home. Let Texas support the rest of the Red States.

47165. Ms. No - 4/16/2018 3:34:12 PM

So, I'm not sure whether to be gratified that I was right in my first impression or really disappointed. Okay, that's not true. I'd happily give up being right at this point.

Comey's ego is as big as Trump's, and he seems to be every bit as self-serving and perhaps even more self-righteous.

Anyone who was holding out hope that Comey's testimony would be the linchpin to an obstruction of justice charge against Trump can hang it up after this memoir debacle.

47166. winstonsmith - 4/27/2018 6:38:57 PM

Townhall media froze the RedState web site and fired all the writers who did not support Trump. This is sad because it was one of the few conservative sites that had a broader ideological coverage that included more traditional conservative viewpoints. I am not a conservative but there was some solid journalism at RedState that I appreciated.
