I have just realised that hyperlinks work in preview mode. Another vast improvement over _____. 498. EricCartman - 10/2/1999 6:11:09 PM Pelle:
Obviously you've never seen the parody of that picture. That's about all I can say, because I have regular nightmares about Pseudo. He'll never admit it, but he's out to get me.
Shit. Here he comes again....

No I haven't. Any hints? 500. EricCartman - 10/2/1999 6:41:19 PM Pelle:
Yes. Three hints for you: 1) The Eagle has landed. 2) "Good Will Hunting" is better when watched during bad weather. 3) You may e-mail me for hints & tips at ecartman_61@hotmail.com.
501. pellenilsson - 10/2/1999 6:54:52 PM OK. Next week. 502. phillipdavid - 10/2/1999 11:44:40 PM pe,

Scanned picture files often have to be resized after they are scanned, which can be done in whatever program the scanner uses (e.g., Adobe PhotoDeluxe). 503. dusty - 10/3/1999 12:55:18 AM pellenilsson
Yes, and that is a very useful feature, worth publicizing.

Links work in the Check for Dust window.
If you are practicing with images or links, obviously you should use the Check for Dust feature. But Check for Dust not only shows you what the post will look like, it is "active" meaning you can test the links. This is ideal if you are trying thumbnail images, where you are using one image to link to another.

HINT
You can make a link to a specific post.
OK, maybe I'm dense. I have seen people do this, and I even saw a post that explained how to do it. But it didn't sink in. So here's how to do it:
- Make sure you are in the thread with the post of interest.
- Type the post number into the Go To Mote # box and click GO, even if the post you want is on the current page. (This action changes the URL in the browser window so that it refers to the specific post.)It should look something like this:
http://www.themote.com/viewThread.asp?thread=26&goToMsg=505
- Copy the address in the window and use it in a link command.
506. dusty - 10/3/1999 1:25:02 AM Hmm, I wonder...
Will this work?
507. dusty - 10/3/1999 1:32:11 AM Post 506 is dedicated to Douglas Hofstadter. 508. Hashke - 10/3/1999 2:49:15 AM pelle:
I love those paintings! There is a request for you over in Language. 509. arkymalarky - 10/3/1999 5:03:49 AM I'm about to give up on this font business. I didn't want to download any new ones, just get the ones I had where I could use them, and I have tried what's actually in the fonts in my browser and still can't see them. All I got outside the standard default ones was Algerian and Broadway and a couple of others. I can set any one as the default and it will work, but to put it in my code is evidently impossible.
Thanks everyone for the help. This isn't a request for more, just a rant and a public admission of my realization that I will never reach computer geekdom. 510. pseudoerasmus - 10/3/1999 6:11:48 PM PE by Dulcet Wabbit
