Is that a musket you're using? Powder, ball, wad, ramrod? 5290. iiibbb - 11/13/2006 6:51:53 PM 4 of the six weeks of firearms season here is muzzle-loader. The week before regular rifle is early ML season, and 3 weeks around Christmas and new years.
It is essentially a musket, but we are allowed modern versions (not all states do); you load it with a ramrod, and there is something of a wad (plastic), and the powder can be purchased as a pre-measured pellet. Some states allow scopes. Overall, they are about as good as a rifle out to 150 meters or so. I saw about ten to twenty deer a day on my commute until Friday. I've hardly seen one since. I don't know how they manage to figure it out, but they seem to know. PARIS - The French anti-doping lab that tested American cyclist Floyd Landis' urine samples made an "administrative error" when reporting its findings on his backup "B" sample, the French newspaper Le Monde reported Wednesday.
The newspaper cited unnamed sources as saying the Chatenay-Malabry laboratory gave the wrong number in its report about Landis' second sample. Tests on the rider's two samples indicated that Landis had elevated levels of testosterone in his system when he won the Tour de France in July.

That's completely inaccurate. When they are doing a Round the South Pole route, it barely even qualifies as "round the world" -- they are nowhere near a Great Circle. They should be required to pass close to the antipodes of the starting point.
Considering the race starts in Spain, that would be New Zealand. The Pittsburgh Penguins disappointed Jaromir Jagr twice on the rink he used to call home. Mark Recchi scored two goals, and the Penguins' defense shut down Jagr and the New York Rangers with a 3-1 victory Saturday night. Jagr, one goal away from 600 in the NHL, often looked frustrated and lethargic and was booed with each touch of the puck. He was limited to three shots and one quality scoring chance.
Boston Bruins coach Dave Lewis is feeling so good that he's taking some gambles. After Washington defenseman Bryan Muir was whistled for tripping 1:48 into OT, Lewis elected to go an unconventional route in putting four forwards on the ice. Glen Murray scored a power-play goal 2:06 into overtime to lift the Bruins to their season-high, fourth straight victory, 3-2 over the Washington Capitals on Saturday night.

Roger Federer overwhelmed James Blake, claiming his third Masters Cup title 6-0, 6-3, 6-4 in Sunday's championship match. Top-ranked Federer rounded off another dominating season with 12 titles and 16 finals appearances from the 17 tournaments he contested, winning $8.34 million. Already the first player to exceed $7 million in prize money in a season, Federer pocketed $1.52 million for his unbeaten run at the season-ending championship in Shanghai. Federer has enough entry rankings points that he doesn't have to win another match between now and March to beat Jimmy Connors' all-time record for most consecutive weeks atop the men's rankings. He has been No. 1 since Feb. 2, 2004, already 143 weeks. By Feb. 26, he'll be up to 161 weeks, beating Connors' mark of 160, according to the International Tennis Federation.
Jonas Bjorkman and Max Mirnyi combined for their first Masters Cup doubles title Sunday, extending a drought for Mark Knowles and Daniel Nestor at the season-ending tournament. Second-ranked Bjorkman and Mirnyi broke third-ranked Knowles and Nestor twice in the first set and once in the second for a 6-2, 6-4 victory. It was a second title for Bjorkman, who won the then season-ending ATP Tour World Doubles Championship with Jan Apell at Jakarta in 1994. Knowles and Nestor were back in the final for the first time in eight years.
