7555. arkymalarky - 3/10/2011 8:43:00 PM how great is that! Congratulations!
I'm loving the kinect. Not losing much weight, but it's great fun and exercise. The dance game is great, and I have EAS personal workout and Zumba. 7556. msgreer - 3/11/2011 9:02:37 PM Hi Arky
My daughter has the Wii and loves it. Then again we are 1500 miles away. If you are having fun what else matters?
As I wrote in The Mote Cafe I do have news that I would put in this thread but I am currently on muscle relaxants and pain pills. It is not the time to be posting so I will have to come back.
It sure is nice to be greated by you. 7557. wabbit - 3/12/2011 1:59:36 AM Hey MsG, great to see you! I sent you an email ages ago, don't know if you ever got it. Wicked cool, lol, love it!
I've been trying to motivate myself into getting (or making) a hula hoop for about two years, maybe longer. I never did get the hang of it as a kid, but I sure could use the exercise. I'm definitely getting a Kinect, one of these days. 7558. thoughtful - 3/21/2011 5:45:34 PM if you are looking for a nice exercise that builds strength, flexibility and helps reduce stress as it is a 'meditation in motion', try Namaste Yoga by Kate Potter...I first saw it on Fit TV and then ordered the DVD's for myself from the web site.
I have to admit i feel very good after doing it. I'm an avid walker but found it's good for the legs and the heart and the mind, but I was losing upper body strength and flexibility....this definitely helps. 7559. judithathome - 4/17/2011 7:13:35 PM My damned knee went out this morning...and it is hurting like hell...I put my handy-dandy knee brace on but it's still painful.
We're going over for the great-grandbaby's Easter egg hunt today because her daddy has to work on Easter Sunday. Maybe I put an eyepatch on and tell her I'm the Easter Pirate with a limp.... 7560. judithathome - 4/17/2011 7:14:18 PM edit: Maybe I CAN put... 7561. anomie - 4/18/2011 1:54:55 AM Knees are just downright strange. I do a treadmill and eliptical almost every day with no problem. But damn if the knee didn't bother me for most of the trip just walking around, and now it's fine again.
I did manage to get up Diamond Head in a half hour. Grateful for small triumphs. 7562. judithathome - 4/18/2011 3:52:49 AM That's more of a HUGE triumph! 7563. Jenerator - 4/22/2011 3:49:27 PM Ms. Greer! Oh my gosh! HI!!!! 7564. Jenerator - 4/22/2011 3:50:49 PM Hi all - remember my thesis topic? Internet Addiction. I was chastised for it, but public opinion has come around...
Internet Addiction on the Huffington Post 7565. msgreer - 4/26/2011 11:39:23 PM Hi Jenerator
I think about you a lot. I am not a regular poster but I wanted to say hi...and I pray you and your family are well. 7566. thoughtful - 1/19/2012 7:56:22 PM So I'm waiting for hubby to get out of recovery...kidney stone removed, stent put in. Don't know what healing will take but it's got to be better than him with a fever of 104.4!
So far 2012 hasn't been a lot of fun. 7567. judithathome - 1/19/2012 9:21:54 PM Ooowwwwwie....he has my sympathy! I had a kidney stone once and had to wait for it to "pass"...most pain I've had in my entire life and I was in labor for 23 hours once.
I've always said, men may not know what pain during labor is but they can have worse with kidney stones...
Hope he is on the mend...I know for a fact he's feeling better. 7568. wabbit - 1/22/2012 5:09:44 PM Oh t'ful, I hope he is feeling better by now.
Hello Ms. Greer! 7569. thoughtful - 1/23/2012 4:36:47 PM Thanks, he's doing much better now, though he still has the stent in which should come out on Wed. Hopefully then this episode will be behind us. 7570. Jenerator - 1/24/2012 8:54:44 PM Thoughtful. Kidney stones are from hell. I hope your husband recovers quickly. 7571. Jenerator - 1/24/2012 8:55:25 PM Marc - if you're out there, I thought of you when I read this. It's about Dallas being one of the worst cities for biking. It vaguely touches upon on WHY this is so.
http://transportationblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2012/01/dallas-commuters-hate-to-walk.html 7572. concerned - 2/26/2012 12:57:59 AM Saw a billboard in Wisconsin on a trip that struck me:
It said "Smile - your mother was pro-life" 7573. judithathome - 3/1/2012 12:10:36 AM So, I'm 2 months away from my 69th birthday and had my annual exam...well, I don't have MS but I do have a swelling at the base of my brain...I have excellent cholesterol but a bad mammogram...
I think I might skip my annual physical next year. 7574. vonKreedon - 3/1/2012 12:15:18 AM Umm...swelling at the base of the brain? Bad mammogram? I assume you're following up on those issues, right?
