77. msgreer - 9/11/1999 11:50:12 AM JudithatHome Excuse the spam. Did you receive my latest info re health insurance? I have more info to give if you want it. 78. vonKreedon - 9/11/1999 1:07:11 PM Cal - Exactly, a header within the thread. 79. CalGal - 9/11/1999 1:09:01 PM I wonder, thought--might it not be enough just to have a link to an "article" that explained the threads purpose? And we should probably move this to suggestions. 80. JJBiener - 9/11/1999 1:13:38 PM Wabbit - Why don't you name the thread "Testing. . . One. . . Two. . ." 81. ethiopianeunuch - 9/11/1999 1:36:42 PM welcome 82. DanDillon - 9/11/1999 1:56:00 PM test 83. DanDillon - 9/11/1999 1:56:29 PM phew 84. wabbit - 9/11/1999 10:52:00 PM ethiopianeunuch,
Your link doesn't work, because:
•You have apostrophies where you don't need them and a missing quotemark
•You need to leave a space between the end of the url and the target command
Your link looks like this: (A
href='http://www.thewizardofoz.com/cmp/frameset.html"target="new"')welcome(/A)
It should look like this: (A
href="http://www.thewizardofoz.com/cmp/frameset.html" target="new")welcome(/A)
Substitute angle brackets for the parenthesis. Try this.
85. ranheim - 9/12/1999 1:02:40 AM As I have said on many occasions previously, I am a dunce when it comes to computers. (Some of you will question whether this is limited just to computers).
But, I clicked into this thread expecting to see reasons why a new person should become a regular participant in The Mote. And this is a far different cup of tea from my expectations!
Am I the only one that interpreted "Try the Mote" in that manner? Or should this thread be re-named? 86. KuligintheHooligan - 9/12/1999 1:07:48 AM phillipdavid, thanks for letting me know that you saw my Brush Script, but why didn't I? What I mean is, I see Brush in the HTML assistance section, but when I did it myself in my own post, I didn't see it on my screen.
Did anybody see the Desdemona font I used? 87. IrvingSnodgrass - 9/12/1999 1:11:44 AM Vic:
I didn't see the Brush Script or the Desdemona, and I have both installed. I did see Brush Script when CalGal tried it recently. All this font stuff is very confusing. 88. phillipdavid - 9/12/1999 1:19:49 AM Kuligin,
I did not see the Desdemona font you used before.
The key, I believe, is that you have to have the font installed in your system folder. Go to the HELP section of FontFreak.com for instructions on installing fonts into the correct place on your PC.
And they even have a MAC section, Irv. 89. phillipdavid - 9/12/1999 1:21:21 AM And once fonts are installed in the correct place they are available in all your applications, from browsers to word-processors. 90. IrvingSnodgrass - 9/12/1999 1:26:42 AM PD:
I do have those fonts installed, but they didn't appear when Vic used them. That's the confusing part. 91. Greystoke - 9/12/1999 1:36:25 AM Time check. 92. Mr.Right-O - 9/12/1999 2:02:43 AM Looking good. 93. arkymalarky - 9/12/1999 3:13:48 AM I've had font troubles, too. I could see lots of nifty ones other people were using (some I couldn't see and figured I didn't have them installed) but when I tried to use the same fonts it didn't work. I didn't see Vic's fonts, either, but I have them in my computer. Maybe Vic and I are using the wrong tags or something. 94. KuligintheHooligan - 9/12/1999 3:14:43 AM PD and Irv,
Thanks for the input. I'm still not sure why Irv could see Brush when CalGal used it, but not when I did, and I know I used the HTML tools properly, since the other items worked fine.
The lines are veeeeery slow right now, so I'm not going to try to download anything from the site just yet PD, but thanks for the hotlink! 95. KuligintheHooligan - 9/12/1999 3:18:45 AM arky, I'll try something again now. Tell me what you see.
This should be braggadocio 96. KuligintheHooligan - 9/12/1999 3:19:53 AM Hey, that worked! (at least for me)
I'll try Brush again. Here is goes:
this should be Brush Script
