10490. Ms. No - 7/22/2004 7:22:33 AM I'm going to be out for Thanksgiving week but probly won't get to AK since it's also my grandmother's birthday that week. Still have to see what the gameplan is. My brother and sister in law and the boys will be out then too. I'm really excited since it'll be the first time the entire family has been out for a holiday in a long time. And of course, the new baby will be a couple months old by then as well.
The film should be fun. It's mostly pretty straight makeup this weekend but there will be some minor gore --- major gore later on but I'm trying to convince him to suggest it rather than show it. I'm no pro and it's better to suggest things than show them if they're going to end up looking cheesy. Just hearing things while seeing a silhouette or shadow suggesting the action is waaaaay creepier than a latex job in most cases. 10491. judithathome - 7/22/2004 7:24:31 AM I agree...some of the scariest stuff is in the viewer's imagination. 10492. arkymalarky - 7/22/2004 7:47:08 AM You know you're welcome any time, No, so if something does work out, no matter how close to Thanksgiving, just call. I'll assure you, we're not going ANYWHERE Thanksgiving (except for the one day to do the relative pig-out thing).
Which reminds me: Bob and I didn't get to celebrate our 20th anniversary because it was right after his dad died and Bob was feeling awful from the diabetes, which he didn't know he had yet, and I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to save the Rural World from our Evil Governor anyway.
This year it just so happens that we're both off that day because it falls after Parent/teacher conferences at both our schools. So I think we may go back up to Eureka and rent a cottage for a couple of days. Either that or Hot Springs at the Arlington, which is what I'd like--do the baths, which I've never done, see Garvan Gardens, ride a White Duck (just kidding), etc. 10493. arkymalarky - 7/22/2004 7:48:08 AM But we won't be in AK, either. You'd have to hook up with Labwabbit for that one. ;-> 10494. Max Macks - 7/22/2004 8:35:22 AM Hey there I just threw my hook line and sinker
in here
to see if there were any fish .

Thanksgiving !! 10495. judithathome - 7/22/2004 11:13:03 AM You just never know what you'll find in the Cafe, Max! 10496. judithathome - 7/22/2004 11:16:21 AM Arky, we'll be comig in a rental car. Keoni is getting one while they fix his truck at the body shop and we decided to use the rental for the trip so I can drop my car off to have the fuel pump changed out over that weekend.
I think it would make it up there and back but the way our luck has been running with cars lately, why chance it? 10497. Magoseph - 7/22/2004 8:25:43 PM Hi, Max, it's about time you show up and say hello to your friends here! Do you have some new paintings to show us?
Hello, Mac. 10498. Macnas - 7/22/2004 9:30:20 PM Hello Mago.
Clear blue sky, 20 deg.C, all is well. 10499. alistairconnor - 7/22/2004 9:36:05 PM Lucky beggar. 34° and thunderstorms over here. 10500. Macnas - 7/22/2004 9:44:01 PM And are you still bicycling around? 10501. alistairconnor - 7/22/2004 9:51:18 PM Oh no, finished that last Saturday. Just rotting in a training course this week.
Taking the girls for a cycling trip this weekend. Gentle stuff, the younger one only just learned to ride.
Here : La Voie Verte, former railway line and canal towpath, a couple of hours drive north of us in southern Burgundy. 10502. alistairconnor - 7/22/2004 9:55:22 PM Actually the Tour de France is, right now, crossing paths with where we were riding yesterday : Jex and Mijoux, in the southern Jura.
I am gratified to see that the Col de la Faucille, which they are currently climbing, is a Category 2 hill. I "won" that particular stage by a fairly wide margin last week. I raised my arms in triumph on the line, but there was no crowd of screaming or spitting fans. 10503. Magoseph - 7/22/2004 10:59:38 PM Ali, replace your camera's batteries this time. Don't forget.
Mac, we have the same weather as you have today. Right now, it's still cool and crisp outside. Luckily there are no mosquitos right now. I'm going to walk to town, one mile to and from won't kill me, a cinch. 10504. Macnas - 7/22/2004 11:09:18 PM You're lucky you didn't fall off! I hope you are not giving such a poor example to your daughters....
You know, you might be interested in this, something to think about maybe.
10505. Macnas - 7/22/2004 11:11:57 PM Mago, I might complain about a lot of things in Ireland, but the lack of mosquitos is not one of them. 10506. alistairconnor - 7/22/2004 11:53:48 PM let's see... St Patrick put them all in a sack and threw them into the sea?
Yes, I would like to do Ireland. Not sure the hills are steep enough for our crew but...
... more likely it would be too expensive for the likes of us.
I'm going to propose Normandy for next year, if I can work out the logistics. But heck. With a cheap flight... I might ask these people for a quote, after all. 10507. Macnas - 7/23/2004 12:07:29 AM Well, I was thinking more in line of the family, when the girls are a bit older, as opposed to the hardened cyclists you gad about with. 10508. iiibbb - 7/23/2004 5:32:51 AM you want? 10509. Ulgine Barrows - 7/23/2004 2:46:44 PM ''When life gives you a smoking ban, make a Nicotini''
goes a favorite quote from Ft. Lauderdale's Larry Wald. Persecuted puffers flock to Wald's bar, Cathode Ray, to order up the Black Lung. The drink mixes a mystery concoction of nicotine-infused vodka with a darkening Kahlua shot.
I was never a quitter!
