We are contract workers. Coaches, sponsors, contract to do extra work for a set amount. If the state wants to say that, to be consistent they'd have to do it for business managers and anyone else on salary who goes above and beyond the job description whenever it's needed.
Our contract covers what we do with the phrase "and other duties as assigned."
