1118. Dusty - 2/8/2000 6:25:32 AM Here is one
safire 1119. Dusty - 2/8/2000 6:34:33 AM Pelle, I went to archives on the NYT web site, did a search on "safire AND language" and got a number of hits. Unfortunately, there is a 2.50 charge for each article, other than very recent ones. 1120. PelleNilsson - 2/8/2000 7:28:43 AM Dusty
Thanks. You found the one I was looking for. The NYT policy of charging for archived articles is, I think, a misguided business idea thought up by accountants. 1121. dusty - 2/8/2000 9:26:20 AM PelleNilsson
Especially at that price. The marginal cost to them is under a penny, but they want more than the cost of the entire Sunday edition.
If you must charge, work out some kind of ecash and charge a dime.

The elephants feats are still there when I open, but I have not worked on it. No problem, though.
I am having problems with posting now in other threads here. Is themote about to falter? 1123. hashke - 2/8/2000 11:01:35 AM Thanks, Dusty. The above note may seem strange. That's because I got only #1116 on first read and not your more immediately previous and more detailed instructions.
When I boot up I get the elephant and the icons, including IE icon. When I hit that everything works fine.
Let me work on your instructions when I have some time. 1124. Candide - 2/8/2000 11:41:47 AM Pelle
William Safire is a regular op ed writer in the "New York Times" If you look there, each regular columnist has an anthology and a biography. It's not hard to find. 1125. Dusty - 2/9/2000 12:02:50 AM Candide
Yes, and they have a page with links to his political columns. His columns on language are a bit harder to find, but if you have a decent source, please share it. 1126. Dusty - 2/9/2000 12:04:47 AM hashke
I'm not having a problem posting to other threads. What kind of problems are you having?
Let me know if my posts above do not solve your huge problem. I'll be happy to work on alternative elephant removal options. (Hmmm, perhaps a mouse would help?) 1127.
