Don't you mean Brietbart?

George Zimmerman arrested in a "domestic disturbance"...not with his wife but with his girlfriend.

11319. judithathome - 11/19/2013 10:43:42 PM

Zimmerman, as soon as he can scrape up $900, will be out on bail. $9,000 bond. Must wear an ankle monitor which he has asked the court to pay for since he is "destitute". Oh, and he must surrender his arsenal of guns while out on bail.

Don't we ALL feel safer now?

11320. judithathome - 11/20/2013 12:10:16 AM

Well, guns aren't the only way a person can cause mayhem...Virginia State Senator(D) Stabbed By Son Who Later Kills Himself

Seems the son was taken in for emergency care under "mental issues" but there was no bed available so they released him.

What a wonderful health care system we have!

11321. arkymalarky - 11/20/2013 12:14:31 AM

Like OJ Simpson and Joren Vandersloot, Zimmerman's character will get him. Who else may die in the interim is the question.

I cannot BELIEVE this really happened: Not being able to single out gays and lesbians, Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin denies benefits to ALL National Guard in her state

Way to support those troops, Mare.

Well, The Senate has just instated the Nuclear Option...no longer takes a majority of SIXTY to pass on appointments to the federal bench (does not include Supreme Court appointments). Now it just takes a majority.

The Republicans are going insane over this and threatening payback when THEY get in the majority...

Maybe they should have given in on a few things along way...this is only over court appointments, something they have worked religiously through the years to stack with conservatives and thought they would have a strangle-hold on for years to come.

For all of Obama's term as President, we have had a "rule by minority" Congress...welcome to majority, guys!

Of course, this will change nothing in the House...which means nothing will get done but at least Obama can make federal judgeship recommendations and possibly, get a few passed. Just like every other president elected by a majority of the public.

11324. Wombat - 11/22/2013 3:13:07 AM

If the Republicans continue down their current path, it may be a long time before they get a majority in the Senate.

11325. Ms. No - 11/22/2013 7:37:22 AM

When was the last time they had a majority in the Senate? I mean, it'll be in their favor the next time they've got 51% or more, so why are they bitching?

11326. judithathome - 11/22/2013 9:10:59 AM

Because that is what they do.

11327. iiibbb - 11/22/2013 6:05:26 PM

Payback--- Because two wrongs makes a right.

11328. Ms. No - 11/22/2013 6:13:50 PM

Well, no, but three lefts do.

11329. judithathome - 11/23/2013 7:47:55 PM

Supreme Court to Hear Hobby Lobby Birth Control Case

The chain has not challenged other methods agreed to by the federal government — contraceptive pills, diaphragms and other barrier methods — but it objects to the four specific methods on grounds they are comparable to abortion.

So, that is THEIR opinion...sounds like they are asking to be allowed to discriminate. And THIS court just might allow that.

This is the court that thinks corporations have the same rights as people do...now we get to see if the court thinks corporations actually have MORE.

RIP Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela, the freedom fighter who emerged from 27 years in prison to become South Africa’s first elected black president and a global symbol of reconciliation, has died. He was 95.

He died at 8:50 p.m. yesterday at his home in Houghton, Johannesburg, South African President Jacob Zuma said in a televised speech to the nation...

I'm having a hard time thinking of great men, public men, in my lifetime.

Mandala heads my list. At random, briefly, on the fly, these names come to mind as possibles: Churchill. Eisenhower. Sadat. Golda Mier. Gorbachev. Thatcher? Ghandi. MLK. Ho Chi Minh.

Shouda, couda, wouda: LBJ. Nixon. Clinton. JFK. deGaulle?

Comments?

11333. arkymalarky - 12/6/2013 2:12:37 AM

Hmmmm. Definitely Mandela. Hard to think of anyone else at the moment.
