You just won't let go to sleep, will you, woman ? I'll check out your link before I hit the sack.

It's been a rough four years for Liberal Democrats.

Where ya going on this trip ?

11935. arkymalarky - 11/5/2004 10:30:26 AM

I'll try to fall asleep with a heating pad on high under my pillowcase. That's how I do it when they won't go away.

We're taking a group to a historical Civil War presentation for the day. It should be fun, if this headache is gone by then.

11936. Frankster - 11/5/2004 10:31:06 AM

By the way, I'll pass along my homepage since you provided me with a link.

http://www.commondreams.org/

It's not extreme, but I have those sites bookmarked too.

11937. Frankster - 11/5/2004 10:33:47 AM

You're too nice to get headaches, Arky. I hope yours goes away soon.

Yes, it sounds like fun.

Oh, shoot. I missed my favorite sitcom, "Just Shoot Me".

11938. arkymalarky - 11/5/2004 10:34:39 AM

Hey, that's a good one! I'll bookmark it.

When you do get a chance to call I'll give you my website url for the stuff we've been doing here. Not much going on at the moment, but it's about to kick back up.

Well, I guess I'd better try that heating pad or I'm going to be a zombie tomorrow.

It's so WONDERFUL to finally "see" you!

11939. Frankster - 11/5/2004 10:39:16 AM

It's always neat to hang with y'all. You guys keep me grounded. Hee-hee! I have so many fond memories of my four or five active years in the Fray and The Mote.

Take care, Arky. I hope you do get over that headache. I think I'll go across the street and get something to eat before hitting the sack.

'night !!!

Welcome baxter, Frank.

11941. Frankster - 11/5/2004 11:04:21 AM

Hello, Alistair!

(I've got the U2 Ipod commercial on my mind, so bear with me for a sec)
...
Hello, Hello
Hola! [Spanish for Hello]
I'm at a place called vertigo (¿Dónde está?) [Where is it?]
It's everything I wish I didn't know
Except you give me something I can feel
Feeeeeeeeeeeel...

I hate being a funny-duddy, Alistair, but I am fighting to keep my eyelids open at the moment while trying to tie up all my lose ends before I sign off. ... I think I'm going to skip the little romp to the store. I'm not only tired, but I'm also cold. I hope you're not too cold across the pond there currently ?

Okay, I better get. Take care, Alistair! Good night, morning, whatever it is where you are at ? :)

11942. alistairconnor - 11/5/2004 11:13:19 AM

Morning! sleep well.
Not cold, but awfully wet.
(not actually here in the office, but the rivers are bursting their banks and stuff)

11943. Magoseph - 11/5/2004 2:06:57 PM

Hello, Ali, Mac and everyone, we are getting ready to go to Chicago this morning in order to sign the final papers on a couple of lots we just sold. Slowly but surely, we are finally divesting ourselves of property. I have to drive there and Flexy won’t be able to object to my driving this time because if he does, I will stop and say “you drive” and these days he is not about to drive in Chicago’s traffic. Thanks, Mac for your answer in Tech. Ali, put your input in there too, please.

11944. Ms. No - 11/5/2004 6:41:02 PM

Ah! I missed Frank! Good to see you, friend but take that nasty 'e' off the end of my name would ya? ;->

No, I am not living in the same neighborhood. I'm now in Burbank in a far better place all on my own with awesome neighbors and a sane and reasonable landlord. In fact, I'm planning a holiday party for the first part of December and I'd love to see you if you're in town. I'll let you know when I've got a definite date.

11945. Macnas - 11/5/2004 6:43:52 PM

Ms.No, we are forever saying our hellos and goodbyes through the revolving door.

See youse all next week.

11946. Ms. No - 11/5/2004 7:12:16 PM

Have an excellent weekend, Mac. I'm glad even to catch a glimpse of you. It brightens my day!

11947. ElliottRW - 11/5/2004 7:29:13 PM

Ms. No,

Got an email from the moderator account, thank you! After that I had some technical difficulties, an account of which I emailed back to the moderator. Should I have instead brought it up in Mote Matters?

Anyway, I am excited about the new thread, and I hope to get it configured over the weekend.

11948. Ms. No - 11/5/2004 7:30:41 PM

Either place is fine. Mote Matters is often faster since we'll see that thread bumped to the top and sometimes the email doesn't get checked more than once a day.

I'll check it now and get back to you!

11949. Ms. No - 11/5/2004 7:32:02 PM

Hmmm....I'm not seeing anything in the Moderator mailbox. Wanna just post it over in Mote Matters?

11950. Magoseph - 11/5/2004 9:09:48 PM

Arky: If it doesn't, maybe you could expand it to discuss Latinos in the US and Latin America in general. Evidently Latinos had quite an impact on the election.

Good idea, don't you think, Elliott? Maybe the thread could encompass all this territory?

11951. ElliottRW - 11/6/2004 12:21:12 AM

Arky/Magoseph,

Ah, I think you are on to something.

I also see the post-Castro-Cuba topic as a component of a larger discussion of the Americas, and the ambivalent attitude of U.S. citizens toward it.

How's this for a thread title:

Manifesting Destiny -- the problems, possibilities, and peculiarities of the new New World.

11952. Magoseph - 11/6/2004 12:35:24 AM

Wabbit will tel you if 'Manifesting Destiny -- the problems, possibilities, and peculiarities of the new New World" will work, Elliott. I know we had a little trouble to fit in what I originally wanted. Wabbit came up with something that was right for me.

11953. judithathome - 11/6/2004 1:07:42 AM

Hi, guys...just dropping in to say hello. Still with company and we are out daily boosting the economy...I found BOOTS yesterday! On sale!
