I don't like flannel sheets. They cling to my nightgown and make it twist around me when I flip over. And I don't like over 300 thread count because they are too flimsy. I like pure white cotton 280, washed with a little bit of bleach and double rinsed.

Egyptian cotton!

Well, Wiz and I agree on something.

Egyptian cotto is the best. I find a high thread count holds up very well. I don't like flannel though. They turn "fuzzy" and get in my eyes.

So....blankets and such.....ahmm....well I'm not a'gin 'em I suppose....

Hi, Mac. Will you be hunting again this weekend?

12154. Macnas - 11/19/2004 1:02:54 PM

Hello Mago.

I hope to, there has been a fall of woodcock, as they say, and I might get one or two for the pot if I can.

12155. Magoseph - 11/19/2004 3:17:36 PM

Flexy just told me that this state is a breeding ground for the woodcocks, Mac, but he tells me too that they are not indigene to the area--I don't know why not, if they breed here. I must find out about these birds as soon as I determine what thread count I need for my bedsheets--first things first, as they say around here.

Have a nice weekend, Mac.

Thank you to those who helped me with my bedroom's beautifying project.

I was browsing on Overstock.com and saw something almost obscene: sheets with a 1200 thread count! They were originally $900 and were selling for $189.

I'm off to Sacramento to a funeral and to Seattle to visit my son. See everyone after Thanksgiving. Have a nice one, all!

Maybe too late to wish you a safe trip, Won, but check with us when you come back.

I recently redid my room...inspired by the swedish design...sort of. Well swedish colors with lots of white and blue. The room was a solid blue color inspired by a room at the wadsworth. But i didn't want to redo the entire thing so i added a wallpaper border of beige and gold and light blue wild flowers with a background that looked like swirled white clouds against the blue sky...not puffy clouds, but like a mostly cloudy sky with peeks of blue. Then I swirled white paint on the upper half similar to the wall paper border. The top edge was awful tho so i painted the ceiling white down a quarter inch onto the wall and bordered the break between the swirled and the white with auto pinstriping in gold...looks terrific. Rearranged the furniture to eliminate a bunch, added a gold brocade bedspread with gold box pleated dust ruffle in a coordinating embossed stripe. I made 'cloud' shades out of an open weave fabric in a very subtle white and a soft yellow stripe which provides privacy when down yet lets the light in. When up, they gather thickly almost like an austrian shade. Finishing touches include pillows on the bed and a flower arrangement i put together that almost matches the flowers in the border.

such fun!

Great work you did, thoughtful. Were the 'cloud' shades difficult to make?

12165. Magoseph - 11/20/2004 12:01:28 AM

Nice border, thoughtful. What do you have for the floor?
