Judith,

You are too funny. I don't know if I would invite someone over who's hit my car ... well, maybe if he or she was a nice sincere person whose check for tha damages was in the mail. ;)

Three Dog Night was huge in my junior high years. I'm transfixed by the drumming in "Liar", among others. I still remember seeing the late Buddy Rich on the Tonight Show one night sometime in the early 70s telling Johnny that he thought the drummer for Three Dog Night was one of the great ones, right after Johnny had asked him who his favorite drummers were. What's this "list" you guys are referring to ? Let me look back ...

Lists! Hmmmph!

...What kind of list wouldn't feature the Starland Vocal Band on their first page ?

12575. Macnas - 12/8/2004 10:33:17 AM

Just to echo wabbit, the list I posted is not a top ten favourites type of thing, but a selection of what I listen to on the computer here.

I don't think I could compile a top ten, it'd be too much like hard work really.

Hmmm, you know, it's strange the similarities between what I listen to and what alistair and Ms.No particularly listen to as well.
I was only listening to Making Plans For Nigel the other day, I'd forgotten what a class tune it is.

12576. Magoseph - 12/8/2004 10:49:24 AM

Hi, Frank. Hello, Mac. What is a class tune?

12577. Macnas - 12/8/2004 10:51:59 AM

Hello Mago.

A tune with class, or a very good tune if you like.

Absensia,

Here are the three holiday threads we've had:

Holly-days 2000-01
Happy New Year 2001-02
SuperHighway Hypermart Hysteria 2003

Hope that helps.

And now, I'm off to sleep. G'night M's!

Hey one of these days Wabbit... can you give us a link to the threads you archived?

12581. Magoseph - 12/8/2004 11:25:42 AM

Abs is looking for the list of Christmas shopping resources we did last year, wabbit.

12582. Dubai Vol - 12/8/2004 4:03:09 PM

Ah, Christmas shopping. I laways enjoy it, because I have a simple rule: if I don't know you well enough to know what you want, I don't buy you a present. In fact I worry more about making sure my wife has good ideas for prezzies for me than I do about anything else. A hug would be fine, AFAIC, but of course that's not a viable option. So I wory more about making sure I get a good present than presents for other people, only so Nicola will be happy about the present she gives me. I could care less, Nicola is the best present I could ever ask for.

Just one bit of advice for present givers: TOYS! A good gift should be useless and enjoyable, something they would never buy for themselves but always wanted, like the binoculars I got last year. Hardly ever use them, but so glad to have them, just in case I want to use them.

Flamingo watching, anyone? Dubai has a lovely transient population of flamingos....

12583. Magoseph - 12/8/2004 4:30:17 PM

Flamingos, really, I mean real flamingos, not toy flamingos, Dubai?

12584. wonkers2 - 12/8/2004 4:31:27 PM

Are the flamingos pink?

12585. Magoseph - 12/8/2004 4:34:36 PM

Well, the ones I saw in the New Orleans zoo were definitely pink, Won.

That's the SuperHighway Hypermart Hysteria one.

12587. Dubai Vol - 12/8/2004 5:00:11 PM

Yes, real flamingos, they stop over here in the thousands, in the sanctuary at the head of Dubai creek, and they are pink. My understanding is that their pinkness is proprtional to the amount of shrimp they eat.

I'll go tomorrow and try to get a pic.

12588. christipeters - 12/8/2004 5:59:35 PM

Hi. Well, I now have shoulder-length blond hair instead of almost waist-length brown hair. Everyone tells me it is flattering and even makes me look younger. I'm still trying to get used to it.

In other news, we seem to be invaded by swarms of ladybugs for some reason. They are everywhere!

12589. PsychProf - 12/8/2004 6:03:40 PM

Happy Chunakah from Oz the former altar boy.

12590. Ms. No - 12/8/2004 6:10:55 PM

Ooh! Great pic, Prof!

12591. Ms. No - 12/8/2004 6:12:05 PM

Speaking of pictures....

JUDITHA!!!!

Do you realize that we never take pictures when we're together? I have exactly two pictures of you and Keoni and it's from when Frank and I met you guys at the airport in Orange County. How bizarre is that???
