14359. alistairconnor - 3/30/2005 4:42:39 PM Well, I have planted lettuces, which is a good predictor of spring frosts. 14360. RickNelson - 3/30/2005 4:45:34 PM If your around Iowa latitude, I would think the plants will have no problem. My Minnesota line is too early for most plants.
We've rain and thunder today, good weather the past 4 days, and some very tolerable weather the next 4. Spring is great. 14361. Magoseph - 3/30/2005 5:17:29 PM Rick, we are around North Iowa latitude so, in effect, you're telling me it's okay to take the plants ouside? 14362. RickNelson - 3/30/2005 6:46:59 PM Yup, I think plants around Decorah or Ames, should survive, if they're hearty as you say. I think Killer frost is gone from our most southern realms. 14363. RickNelson - 3/30/2005 6:49:37 PM However, if you live off one of the Great Lakes, or near the upper regions of the Rockies, There's no way. It's still a risk for the Rockies or those northern lakes imo. 14364. arkymalarky - 3/30/2005 8:32:40 PM We're in full spring mode now. Azaleas in bloom, redbuds and dogwoods everywhere--once we get past Nashville, I'm thinking the drive to Charleston WV will be gorgeous, especially Kentucky. 14365. arkymalarky - 3/30/2005 8:34:03 PM I'm glad you check in with us when you can Rick. I wonder how our other parents are doing, like Rask and DanDillon. I do wish folks like that would pop in and at least give us a kid report every once in a while. 14366. Magoseph - 3/30/2005 9:47:56 PM I wish Diva would come and talk to us about her girls. 14367. thoughtful - 3/30/2005 9:57:43 PM considering we've had frost in our area as late as memorial day, i never put plants out until mid may at the earliest. If you want to be sure, I believe there is a zone chart linked to the good life thread...or at least there used to be. 14368. Magoseph - 3/30/2005 10:30:49 PM I don’t think I will put the plants outside, Thoughtful, just in case winter flares up again—they are quite beautiful now and I certainly would mourn their demise after all the loving care I bestowed upon them. 14369. arkymalarky - 3/30/2005 11:39:06 PM Better safe than sorry if they're doing well indoors. 14370. arkymalarky - 3/31/2005 12:48:05 AM I have been so chatty in here today. I hope y'all know I fully expect you to keep me entertained while I'm convalescing in a few weeks.
I also suggested to my students that raising money to get me a Play Station Personal shouldn't be much of a problem if they couldn't think of anything else to do. 14371. Frankster - 3/31/2005 1:16:35 AM "Convalescing" ? Arky, what happened ? 14372. judithathome - 3/31/2005 1:25:37 AM Frank, is your address still the same? If not, write me!! 14373. Frankster - 3/31/2005 1:39:34 AM
Home address or email one ? I think I inadvertently left your address, and those of many others, on my old computer so I need yours too.
me_palani@yahoo.com 14374. arkymalarky - 3/31/2005 6:06:13 AM Hey Frank! Great to see you!
I'm going to have to have a hysterectomy. I'm getting the surgery scheduled tomorrow. 14375. Macnas - 3/31/2005 7:09:34 AM I'll be thinking of you arky. 14376. arkymalarky - 3/31/2005 8:42:06 AM You're a dear, Mac.
The most fascinating thing about all this to me is 1) how many women I know who've had them that I had no idea about before now and 2) how excited those who had what I have (very large and numerous fibroid tumors) are when I tell them. The first words I hear from them are "You'll feel so much better. You'll feel like a new woman." I'm ready for that part. 14377. Macnas - 3/31/2005 12:00:40 PM Those tumors are very common, I know 3 women who have had them. All of them never regret going for surgery. 14378. thoughtful - 3/31/2005 2:23:22 PM Wish me happy birthday guys. Not sure I'm thrilled about it when I think of how many decades ago I enjoyed turning 22!
