1464. theDiva - 6/28/2000 4:10:37 AM Not working. 1465. rubberducky - 6/28/2000 4:14:51 AM well, yeah, "working" RealAudio is understood, i thought
heh 1466. PelleNilsson - 6/28/2000 4:53:02 AM Diva
It opens in a new window. 1467. theDiva - 6/28/2000 5:00:28 AM I know. The RealAudio clip doesn't load. 1468. PelleNilsson - 6/28/2000 5:44:18 AM That is strange. It works for me. 1469. theDiva - 6/28/2000 8:51:29 AM because the audio file is located on your hard drive. Did you upload it to your web server, pointing the link to the place where the file lives on the server? 1470. alistairconnor - 6/28/2000 8:53:34 AM Repeat after me, Pelle : I am a dickhead. You didn't upload the audio file to anywhere the rest of the world could see it. Instead of a URL, the link is to C:\test.rm. 1471. labwabbit - 6/28/2000 8:54:45 AM Haha...
Wot a crew. 1472. theDiva - 6/28/2000 8:57:04 AM Geez, Connor. Okay, I'll repeat after you.
You're a dickhead. 1473. labwabbit - 6/28/2000 8:58:15 AM ...just another image I can do without. 1474. wonkers2 - 6/28/2000 12:14:19 PM Am I correct in my impression that participation in The Mote is declining? Is there a measure of it? Seems to me this institution will ultimately dry up unless we get a continual influx of new participants. How to do it? I'm not sure. Are we linked to other sites? Are we registered with various search engines? I'm not asking this critically of anyone. I think it's a great forum and hate to see it decline if in fact participation is declining?????? 1475. PelleNilsson - 6/28/2000 2:16:50 PM alistair and diva
This is a mystery to me. When I check the page source I find that I have correctly linked to
http://www.geocities.com/pelle108/test.html
Yet, you say it is linked to my hard disk and alistair gives the correct name for the source file. Where did you get that? 1476. theDiva - 6/28/2000 7:00:17 PM The page source, yes, but now you need to upload the audio file. If the audio file itself doesn't have a URL, it can't be accessed from the web. 1477. PelleNilsson - 6/28/2000 7:34:00 PM Now I'm even more confused. The URL above is the URL for the audio file and that's the one I have linked to. 1478. theDiva - 6/28/2000 9:02:53 PM It can't be if it's an html file. It has to be something like http://www.dourhumorlessswede.org/pelle/soundfile.wav 1479. Indiana Jones - 6/28/2000 9:47:34 PM Pelle:
In the source file (test.html) there's a line that says
serverpath="C:\"
You need to change that to the location of the file on the server (assuming the file test.rm is on the server). It likely ought to be
serverpath="http://www.geocities.com/pelle108/" 1480. PelleNilsson - 6/29/2000 4:25:07 AM Diva and Indy
What I'm testing is streaming media on Geocities. You get RealProducer for free. Your recording goes into a source file, in my case test.rm and then when RealProducer prepares the files to be uploaded it generates test.html amd test.rpm where test. html is the one to be linked to.
Now, I've not been able to get Realproducer's "publish" function to work so I used Geocities' File Manager to upload these three files. This is probably where the problem is, as Indy says I'll have to try to change that line in the .html file. 1481. theDiva - 6/29/2000 4:26:40 AM I defer to Indy on this one. I am but a humble gubment paperpusher. 1482. rubberducky - 6/29/2000 4:29:30 AM who is FAB! 1483. theDiva - 6/29/2000 4:43:13 AM heeheeheehee......
