14698. Magoseph - 4/26/2005 11:46:47 AM How was the trip to Italy, Ali? 14699. alistairconnor - 4/26/2005 12:41:58 PM Excellent, Mago. I'll post some pictures and comments in a day or so.
A lot of driving - nearly 2000 km - but the kids seem to think it was worth it. So who am I to complain. (I'm only the driver...) 14700. thoughtful - 4/26/2005 1:08:50 PM All of the former moters who are no longer around...I wondered where they went. Well on this past weekend's trip to FL, I found out:
Mote Rehab 14701. alistairconnor - 4/26/2005 1:18:07 PM Good lord. I never knew it was cureable. 14702. alistairconnor - 4/26/2005 1:18:46 PM Rehabilitation, sure. But can one ever be really "well" again? 14703. Macnas - 4/26/2005 1:44:39 PM "wellness"
What a dumbass word.
If we could look in the window, we might see Khan and Pincher having at each other with walking canes, while Irving stands between them, trying to calm things down.
Rustler would probably be squatting on top of a cupboard, howling like a dog and throwing things at the staff. 14704. PelleNilsson - 4/26/2005 3:20:37 PM And that would be the blue cupboard in which Hashké encouraged people to shit. 14705. Ms. No - 4/26/2005 5:08:20 PM I'm not going.
I DON'T have a PROBLEM!!! 14706. arkymalarky - 4/26/2005 5:40:59 PM It is so gorgeous here today--65F and clear as a bell.
I'm getting to the stir-crazy part of this recup business. 14707. Magoseph - 4/26/2005 6:38:22 PM We have 50F here and glad of it--it's been so cold recently. 14708. judithathome - 4/26/2005 7:22:13 PM Nice day today, after yesterday's tornado warnings and sightings. Arky, did y'all get any of that? 14709. PelleNilsson - 4/26/2005 7:33:15 PM I just reread my #14704. No, I didn't mean that Hashké was crouching in the cupboard encouraging people to defecate.
The archives are not available, otherwise I could have quoted a moderately funny conversation beween me, Hashké and stostosto about the expression "go shit in the blue cupboard" which Hashké thought was a Swedish idiom. He was a collector of idioms in several languages and published a book on the subject. The irony is that he was right, but at the time I found out he was gone. 14710. arkymalarky - 4/26/2005 7:48:29 PM We got rain last night, Judith, but I don't recall any thunder, except for one or two distant rumbles before dark. 14711. Magoseph - 4/26/2005 9:25:12 PM How do you feel now, Arky--are you walking a little? 14712. arkymalarky - 4/27/2005 12:58:14 AM Hey Mags! I feel good, thanks for asking!
I usually limit myself to one trip up the stairs a day, but I indulged in a second one today--not because climbing stairs is difficult, but to keep myself off the computer, because sitting in this chair very long is tiring and makes me sore. Mose offered use of her laptop, but she's got finals next week and she needs it. Plus, staying off of it keeps me from working and I'm determined not to do any work until at least next week.
I'm feeling a lot better, but still not moving too much. I'm going to try walking for exercise this weekend (up to a mile, but we'll see how things go--no more at first, no matter how good it feels, and I'll stop when I need to). I thought I might today, but I think I'd better wait.
I had my first bath today (been taking showers, before any wiseacres come in to comment), and it was WONDERFUL. 14713. Magoseph - 4/27/2005 12:08:20 PM Arky, I'm glad to see that you're taking this recovery seriously and I hope that you won't get into anything (such as work) until school starts in August. You were very busy the last couple of years, maybe too much, you know.

Pelle, try here, starting at a bit past post #1600. It's a big file and may choke the server. If it does, you can always right-click the link and save the page. 14715. Magoseph - 4/27/2005 12:43:09 PM
14716. judithathome - 4/27/2005 1:56:44 PM I can smell the lavender from here! 14717. PelleNilsson - 4/27/2005 2:24:08 PM Wabbit, I got "server not found". But never mind. The moment has passed.
