15002. arkymalarky - 5/17/2005 9:38:22 PM Dadgum--someone put a toe tag on the cafe today. 15003. iiibbb - 5/17/2005 9:48:10 PM Stupid ADD 15004. Magoseph - 5/17/2005 9:48:25 PM You made me laugh out loud reading those posts, Arky. What's a toe tag on the cafe? 15005. Ms. No - 5/17/2005 10:25:07 PM Gah! I can't believe I didn't even notice. I'm getting lazy and unobservant in my old age.
Congrats Arky! 15006. uzmakk - 5/17/2005 11:03:23 PM Wonkers, regarding your question of several days ago: it is a secret.
Is Irving Snodgrass still in the furniture business and does anyone know how to get in touch with him? 15007. arkymalarky - 5/18/2005 12:00:05 AM That's the kind of productive stuff us recuperating people do while the rest of y'all work.
Mags, a toe tag is what they put on dead people in the morgue. 15008. arkymalarky - 5/18/2005 12:00:54 AM Uz, I don't think so. 15009. Magoseph - 5/18/2005 1:02:23 PM I should have known that, Arky--after all, I'm a fan of "Six Feet Under". I still have a hard time with many expressions such as this one. After I read your answer, I asked Flexy what it meant and of course he knew.
Hello, everyone!
15010. alistairconnor - 5/18/2005 1:34:27 PM Top scientists explain : Today, May 18th, is the ideal day to make a new year's resolution.
M x O + Bh (H+R) x S, where M is for motivation, O for opportunity, Bh for proximity to a bank holiday, H for the increasing hours of daylight, R for reflection time and S, naturally, for success. It all adds up to May 18, according to psychologist Cliff Arnall.
It's true that I'm feeling good this week. 15011. thoughtful - 5/18/2005 2:03:09 PM Lots of wildlife this a.m....lots of turkeys who were dancing around, 3 horses, a canada goose, squirrels of course, and a fox who's hanging around our neighborhood...looks fat and happy given all the turkeys around.
Maybe that's why cas has been hanging so close to home... 15012. Magoseph - 5/18/2005 2:48:26 PM 15013. Magoseph - 5/18/2005 3:07:53 PM Toys 15014. Magoseph - 5/18/2005 3:15:54 PM 15015. Magoseph - 5/18/2005 3:52:25 PM It's foggy, but he lillies of the valley are finally in bloom.
15016. Magoseph - 5/18/2005 3:53:33 PM Can you see the pictures, Arky? 15017. arkymalarky - 5/18/2005 4:06:53 PM Yes, as far as they've loaded. They're faster than usual today. A lot of days I just can't wait for the pictures to load (I dropped my separate computer phone line, so I only have one phone line now). They're very nice, Mags 15018. alistairconnor - 5/18/2005 4:20:48 PM Le lys dans la vallée. Very Balzacien, Mago.
Ah les femmes de trente ans... 15019. Magoseph - 5/18/2005 5:23:09 PM I'm more a Nana’s sympathizer, Ali--as a kid, I heard so much about one my ancestors and his obsession with Zola and the Dreyfus affair. My father had all the books then—wonder what happened to them now. He was a contremaître in a silk factory and quite a drunk on Sundays. As soon as he retired, he went from one of his children to another and everyone gave him wine. Since he had ten kids, he died happy within a couple of years--no one had the courage to keep him sober. After his funeral, the neighbors were scandalized because they heard his children and his friends laughing aloud--they were relating to each other anecdotes about him. It’s strange the things that come to mind sometimes. 15020. thoughtful - 5/18/2005 6:08:43 PM those don't look like the lily of the valley that i know...they look too tall and the leaves in the pic are feathery.
Here's what I call lily of the valley...muget des bois?
15021. thoughtful - 5/18/2005 6:09:58 PM actually in the pic that looks to me like white bleeding hearts.
