15408. Ms. No - 6/9/2005 3:55:36 PM Mags & Wonk,
I didn't mean to imply that Elizabeth Taylor's eyes are not violet --- I've always heard them described as such --- but the only person I've ever actually met in the flesh, as opposed to having seen a picture or film of, is my friend's mother. 15409. Magoseph - 6/9/2005 4:42:05 PM Actually, Ms. No, I was responding to Ronski, not you. I believe in violet eyes because my sister, the ex-nun, has them, mean sister that she is.
15410. Macnas - 6/9/2005 4:44:48 PM A mean violet eye'd ex-nun for a sister.
Some people have all the luck. My eyes are green. 15411. PelleNilsson - 6/9/2005 4:46:24 PM Poor Ms. No. So few human contacts. 15412. Ms. No - 6/9/2005 5:26:24 PM hahaha, I did say that didn't I? 15413. Ms. No - 6/9/2005 5:45:22 PM Mac,
I'm quite envious. My brother's eyes are green like our father's. My mother and I have brown like her father, but the three of us are oddities in the family. Both grandparents and all their sons on my father's side have blue or green eyes as do most of their cousins and aunts and uncles.
They got all the tall genes as well.
Now that I think about it, most of my mother's family have light eyes as well.
Wonder what color eyes the mailman had..... 15414. Ms. No - 6/9/2005 5:50:59 PM Jeez, it's like my 7th grade biology class in practice.
Green-eyed woman produces two brown-eyed children with her brown-eyed husband. Their brown eyed daughter has two children with a green-eyed man and they get a green-eyed son and a brown-eyed daughter. My grandmother's sister is blue-eyed and she married a blue-eyed man and all three of their children have blue eyes as do all of the grandchildren born of blue-blue unions. My Aunt Diane is the only woman on that side of the family to bear brown-eyed sons.
Both my nephews have blue eyes although the older one's may end up green like his father's.
15415. thoughtful - 6/9/2005 6:22:54 PM When I had my colors done, the woman doing it said if you can isolate all the colors in your eye, each of those shades would also be a good color for you to wear. I hadn't really noticed until she pointed it out. I looked at my eye and there's this wonderful shade of yellow-gold speckled in there that I'd love to try on some time.
In general my natural eye color is a paleish greenish gray that tends to reflect the colors that I'm wearing. Though I usually wear blue contacts. Dad's eyes were blue...mother and brother have hazel eyes. Cat has gold eyes that I liked so much I painted our bedroom the same color. Hubby has teddy bear brown eyes. 15416. Magoseph - 6/9/2005 6:27:30 PM Both my nephews have blue eyes although the older one's may end up green like his father's.
What color of eyes has the boys'mother?
15417. Ms. No - 6/9/2005 7:40:56 PM The older son's mother is saphire blue-eyed. The younger son's mother's eyes are greenish-blue and paler. They say that children's eyes are pretty much set by the time they're 9 mos old, but my older nephew is almost 5 and until the last few months his eyes were pure, dark blue and now they're changing, but my brother's eyes did that too. 15418. Magoseph - 6/9/2005 7:56:10 PM Both my sons had blue eyes when they were babies. Now they definitely have green eyes as I have. Three siblings of mine have blue eyes, but unquestionably, the ex-nun has the most beautiful eyes of us all. It is a good thing that I look like both my parents, my mother often said.
15419. Magoseph - 6/9/2005 7:58:40 PM I wonder now what color of eyes Ulgine has--she'll think we are going gaga over eyes this time. 15420. arkymalarky - 6/9/2005 8:23:23 PM Bob's eyes are light brown, mine are dark hazel (close to his color), and Mose's are very gray-blue. 15421. Ms. No - 6/9/2005 9:40:00 PM I thought brown was the most common eye color and when I think of people I know, it seems to be, but I'm an oddity in my family. 15422. thoughtful - 6/9/2005 10:09:00 PM What's scary is how many people I've known for a long time and I have no idea what color their eyes are! I've known my FIL all my life and I'll be dipped if I can remember his eye color. Of course, now it's too late to ask as he's been dead for 15 years. Most of the photos of him are either too indistinct or b&w. Hmmm. I'll have to ask hubby if he knows.
Well i'm on vacation tomorrow after working my buns off on a big project...hope I can go back to a normal schedule now. And we're meeting with architect #6 on Monday. It's either this guy or nothing. He's supposed to be into solar stuff so we'll see where we end up with him. We don't want to make our house active solar, but we are interested in making it 'solar sensitive' so it takes advantage of the sun, appropriate overhangs so we enjoy the sun in the winter but don't cook in the summer, and get proper venting and such so we can do it without needing central air. 15423. alistairConnor - 6/9/2005 10:29:18 PM Number Six!
Did you have to pay the other five? 15424. alistairConnor - 6/9/2005 10:31:35 PM Ulgine? Green, I should think.
But what do I know.
Probably two different colours. What's the term for that? 15425. judithathome - 6/10/2005 12:06:56 AM Back from the doctor and I may have a blood clot in my left calf...will find out Tuesday. 15426. Ulgine Barrows - 6/10/2005 7:00:55 AM Find what out? Are you OK? Does it hurt?
Heterochromia iridium, green and gray. 15427. Ulgine Barrows - 6/10/2005 10:03:59 AM I'm scared, having rashly quit my job that I've loathed for years. I didn't loathe the $35/hr nor the people, but I had to lie a lot, and it got me.
All these new jobs available on the web/local paper are for $10/hr. Way low. I think I made a big mistake.
Any ideas?
