15808. jexster - 7/14/2005 1:05:33 AM Antoine's Oyster's Rockefeller (Don't believe it - secret recipie)
Ingredients :
6 tbl Butter
1/2 cup Bread crumbs
2 cup Fresh chopped spinach
or
2 pkt (10-oz) frozen spinach
1/2 cup Parsley
1/2 cup Diced celery
2 tbl Diced onion
1 tbl Pernod liqueur, or Anisette
1/4 tsp Salt
3 dsh Tabasco
18 lrg Oysters
Method :
Melt butter; add crumbs and saute 1 minute, stirring constantly. Combine with other ingredients, except oysters, in blender until smooth. Arrange oysters in shells (or individual dishes). Top each with 1 tablespoon spinach mixture and broil 3-5 minutes or until lightly browned.
Commander's Dressing - Commander's Palace
1 1/2 cups olive oil
1 egg room tem
1/3 teaspoon salt
1/2 t cracked peppercorns
1/4 cup white vinegar (!!!!..3 to 1 usu ratio)
3 TB white minced onions....
My grandmother used to go there when she was a child and we went whenever in NO...best in the city since about 1980 or so although recent reports suggest a major crash de cuisine

It is hot here too. Close to 30C (86F) for almost two weeks. From here I can see some birches which for lack of rain have started to turn yellow two months ahead of time.
