so, Gine, what are you selling this week?

Not the furniture yet, I hope?

15996. RickNelson - 8/4/2005 1:58:57 PM

Howdy Speed55tx.

Mago is fabulous. This is the easiest forum to post to, that I've found on the web. That is, it's user friendly.

Hi Ulgine,

I'm glad you enjoyed the countdown. I was perfectly satisfied with Green Day in the #1 slot. I was expecting Nirvana, but I have to say I wouldn't have been all that happy about it. I know, I know, Nirvana is the greatest most influential rock band of the last 20 years blah blah blah. I'm tired of hearing about it. Nirvana's okay. Yes, I can see their influence, but Grunge was a movement, not a band and I prefer Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and the Stone Temple Pilots all over Nirvana. Hell, I like HOLE better than Nirvana.

Just goes to show you what senseless, scandalous death at a young age can do for your popularity.

Where the hell are you again? Or can I ask that? "Heartland" or "Midwest" or PNW is fine, I'm just trying to figure a vague approximation of time-zone/geography.

Hi Speed! Welcome!

15999. speed55tx - 8/4/2005 7:00:29 PM

Thanks for the kind welcome. Y'all. (I just had to say that)

16000. Ms. No - 8/4/2005 7:12:29 PM

Sometimes it just has to be said.

and thanks for the Milennium!

16001. Ms. No - 8/4/2005 7:22:26 PM

Ah, I haven't had one of those in ages! Usually they creep up and are gone before I even notice.

So, Speed, what part of Texas are you in? I spent a lot of my growing up years in Dallas and still go back to see family --- and other Moties that live there, too.

I spent a lot of my growing up years in Dallas and still go back to see family --- and other Moties that live there, too.

And one of these days when she does that, she's going to slip a little further eastward and see us, I hope!

16003. arkymalarky - 8/5/2005 12:37:23 AM

Hell, I like HOLE better than Nirvana.

Haha! I love that. I wouldn't take it quite that far, but I agree with you about Nirvana--except Smells Like Teen Spirit. I love that one in spite of myself.

16004. Magoseph - 8/5/2005 12:45:19 PM

Hey, thanks, Roberts, for the Mago is fabulous.—every and any compliment are welcome.

Today, the weather is ideal, unlike the last few days when I was very busy with Flexy and Butch, catering to their every whim, I mean.

16005. alistairConnor - 8/5/2005 3:45:16 PM

Just enjoying a bit of afternoon sheer laziness. Just sitting around having late lunch, glass of wine, following the cricket on the internet, nobody else here, no particular plans to see anyone all weekend, heaps of stuff that needs doing and no particular inclination to do any of it... and no feelings of anguish or guilt about all this.

That's quite a welcome novelty.

16006. PelleNilsson - 8/5/2005 3:49:42 PM

You're on to something there, alistair, something I have perfected though years of practice - masterful inactivity.

16007. alistairConnor - 8/5/2005 3:59:18 PM

I just heard, quite by chance, a very dear friend on national radio (France Inter), talking about her new one-man show, "Christine" that she's premièring in Thonon les Bains today.

Here she is, performing on the Brooklyn bridge

16008. Macnas - 8/5/2005 4:00:27 PM

Indeed, the charm of being idle.

16009. arkymalarky - 8/5/2005 4:17:33 PM

Alistair, you sound like something straight out of Wind in the Willows!

16010. alistairConnor - 8/5/2005 4:21:33 PM

Ah yes, I'm being a Toad!

Thank you arky.

16011. Ms. No - 8/5/2005 5:57:57 PM

Arx,

I'm aiming for next year for sure. If I'd known ahead of time what exactly was going to be going on in my life this summer I would've been there last weekend, but hindsight, as they say, is 20/20.

Smells Like Teen Spirit is definitely a great song and I don't have a dislike for Nirvana, I just don't cream my jeans over them the way I'm apparently supposed to.

Honestly, I don't know that I really prefer Hole to Nirvana, unless we're talking about what I'm going to sing at the bar. Now, Heart-Shaped Box, I'd enjoy singing, but otherwise give me Malibu or Celebrity Skin.

I know none of you watchs Big Brother but please go HERE and cast a vote for Kaysar, a really good looking and very smart young man who was voted off last night by a bunch of racist, xenophobic morons. If he gets more votes than the other two, he will be able to return to the house and wreak havoc on the others.

16013. Ulgine Barrows - 8/5/2005 8:42:54 PM

Doll Parts or Smells Like Teen Spirit might also be fun. Excellent complaint rock!

I have a karoke of The Devil Went Down to Georgia I'm fond of.Doll Parts or Smells Like Teen Spirit might also be fun, I'm with larky on that. Excellent early 90s complaint rock!
STP, gotta love that interstate guitar.

Heartland, Midwest, Levelland, you're correct.

alistairconnor, have you read Selling Ben Cheever? Thanks for your vote of non-confidence.

I am trying out Odin's masterful inactivity this afternoon. It is not working out so well. I think I might need to dig some dirt up in the garden and shuffle the world around.

Hello, speed55tx.

16014. judithathome - 8/5/2005 8:44:18 PM

Speed55, what part of Texas claims you? I'm in Fort Worth.
