I'm bery glad that you're feeling better. Jen. Hurry up with Faith's picture.

Mags,

Since we're all adults here... my doctor had me massage the infected breast and continue to feed her from both. Evidently babies create an enzyme in their salivas which can cause the mastitis, but can also break it down. If I had had an abcess, I would have had to stop breast feeding completely. I am glad that we caught it just in time.

I have never experienced such a weird pain.

That's great, Jen. My son's grandma knew what she talked about then--he was talking to me about the ducks getting engorged. So, massaging would help in that.

Old wives tales are great!

One I had heard is if a woman has heartburn or indigestion during pregnancy, it means that the baby will have a lot of hair. This pregnancy, I did have heartburn and Faith has tons more hair than Dylan!

16855. Magoseph - 10/3/2005 11:59:15 PM

Both my sons had lots of hair, but after a while it thinned considerably.

16856. Jenerator - 10/4/2005 12:04:12 AM

Ha!

My husband's is starting to get a little thinner, too. He has had a thick head of hair his whole life up until @ two years ago.

It doesn't bother me, though. He keeps it nice and short anyway.

Yeow! What a great day for the Mote. Welcome back to ScottLoar, vonKreeden, and PRolph (who I'm so glad does come in and visit pretty regularly)!

16858. arkymalarky - 10/4/2005 1:42:22 AM

Bob's went to a point above his temples, but you can't tell it, but his hair is very thick and he keeps it very short. I'd love it longer because it's very nice hair (with plenty of salt among the pepper), but he says it's too hot.

16859. Magoseph - 10/4/2005 11:21:28 AM

Jen, I meant that my sons had much hair when they were born and lost it soon after--right now, they haven't reached the age to worry about that.

Arky, you must be busy lately--how's school going?

Good morning, Mac.

Hello Mago.

My morning meeting beckons, and I must go.

16861. judithathome - 10/4/2005 5:57:39 PM

No bad dreams last night so this morning looks to be the start of a good day.

16862. woden - 10/4/2005 7:26:23 PM

Congratulations, Jen!

After sleeping for the previous 24 hours, I went to my doctor this afternoon to get a medical certificate to skive off work for a couple of days. Just a flu sort of thing.

I really felt like death barely warmed up, and expected her to tell me something in that line. Instead, she tells me she's never seen me looking so good : content and serene.

She's right, of course.

16864. alistairConnor - 10/4/2005 9:11:14 PM

I tip my hat to ScottLoar and VonKreezus. Would be very pleased to see more of both!

16865. judithathome - 10/4/2005 10:07:35 PM

You know, you can still look fine but feel dragged out by the flu.

16866. thoughtful - 10/4/2005 10:36:39 PM

Hah! Just as I always suspected. A/C is a real flu-sy!

16867. Magoseph - 10/4/2005 10:47:09 PM

Talking about flu, you had better go back to that doctor, Ali. I remember as a kid going to cousin in a sanatorium in Savoie. We were told she was very sick and could only see us through glass doors. I had geared myself to see a pale and forlorn wraith of a girl. Instead, this beautiful girl, lightly tanned, with pink cheeks and bright eyes smiled at us.

Anyway, thoughtful, I have this annoying habit lately of relating things that happen to me or that I heard about
to events of the distant past. I thing I'am aging rapidly.

16868. Magoseph - 10/4/2005 10:47:45 PM

What do you thing about that?

16869. thoughtful - 10/4/2005 10:51:24 PM

eh??? Speak up there you young whipper-snapper! I can't hear you!

16870. thoughtful - 10/4/2005 10:55:47 PM

Here's a picture of me in my youth...
