I think it's only a warning if there is a sudden change in the type and frequency of mistakes.

16907. Magoseph - 10/5/2005 8:42:03 PM

Which warning is it, do you think?

16908. Ms. No - 10/5/2005 8:47:20 PM

Probably any number of maladies - senility, alzheimers, brain tumor, reversal of super-acting experimental smart pills.

Then there's always alien experimentation.

I thought it was a si666gn of posse666ssion by an ev666il spi666rit

We're going to miss you, Arky. One consolation for us: we'll know that you're feeling better than you did last year.

Thank you! I'm very glad I don't feel like I did this time last year, but I'll be around the Mote as much as I am now.

Scott, I love the finger-mashing story (but the mashing description made me cringe), and your daughter's reaction made me laugh out loud. I can relate.

16912. arkymalarky - 10/5/2005 11:53:56 PM

The second description, that is.

Hello, Mac

Hello Mago.

16915. thoughtful - 10/6/2005 8:03:21 PM

I'm a wee bit miffed. Just tried to check on my free annual credit report, and in order for them to make sure I'm me, they are asking for account numbers from credit cards, which is fine. But they are asking for account numbers from credit cards I don't have any more and haven't had for years. I mean one store card went out of business at least 10 years ago. How crazy is this?

Is this their way of getting out of providing a free credit report???

16916. thoughtful - 10/6/2005 8:03:55 PM

mindyou the thoughtfuls have no debt at all...none. So it's not like i need this, but i was curious to see what it said about us.

Are you using this site?

16918. judithathome - 10/6/2005 8:23:12 PM

My son just called and he is so upset...he just had to put down his beloved Devon Rex which he's had for 16 years. His name was Bones and that was the coolest cat in the world...a really fine cat. He would go out hunting and come back after a few days all beat up and recover...he had scars like crazy but was so tough, he'd always fo back for more.

My son said he was either hit by a car or took a fall from the roof. He found him in the yard, paralyzed and unable to move except for front legs and his neck and head.
The vet said it was hopeless and that his kidneys had probably already shut down.

My son is heartbroken...it's so dreadful to hear your kid break down and weep.

16919. Magoseph - 10/6/2005 8:28:58 PM

Yes, it's dreadful and my heart goes to you and your son, Judith.

16920. Ms. No - 10/6/2005 8:31:35 PM

I'm so sorry. What an awful thing.

16921. thoughtful - 10/6/2005 11:02:10 PM

J@h, so sorry to hear about bones. It's never easy to lose a pet.

RJB, that was the site I was using. I think I'll try calling them and see how far I get.

16922. arkymalarky - 10/6/2005 11:41:48 PM

Oh Judith, that's awful.

16923. judithathome - 10/6/2005 11:56:30 PM

Thanks to everyone...this cat was so special. We're all going to miss Bones.

Arky, I thought of Diva when he called me.

16924. arkymalarky - 10/7/2005 12:11:50 AM

Oh yes. I thought of her when I read it, remembering and thinking how painful it must be for your son.

16925. Ulgine Barrows - 10/7/2005 8:36:07 AM

16776. Magoseph.

You are quite the crack up. I had the WalMart person lead me around as you suggested. We both thought black olives would be on the canned vegetable aisle. Turns out, they are near the pickles. Took as long as usual. Longer, actually. We stoo in line for checker. I usually go through the self-checkout line and screw things up on purpose so a supervisor comes over immeditaely to fix it, and I get out faster.

That's one I re-read also, always something different each time. As well as Ford Maddox Ford's "The Good Soldier".
