Very good, went to a clay shoot up in Tipperary, cut the grass at home, nice time with the family.

16960. Macnas - 10/10/2005 5:47:08 PM

Home time, yay!

16961. wonkers2 - 10/10/2005 7:34:59 PM

Lincoln, Nebraska, recently adopted a feral cat policy with involves picking them up, neutering them, and releasing them. Previously, they picked them up and killed them if they were unclaimed after a period of time. They claim their new approach will reduce or eliminate feral cats in a more humane way.

16962. judithathome - 10/10/2005 7:50:14 PM

Yes, it will...they will eventually die of natural attrition and in the meantime, keep new cats out of their territory.

This is the flag of pakistan

Anyone see why this is an impossibility?

16964. Magoseph - 10/10/2005 11:49:54 PM

You mean that no star is on the moon?

16965. Magoseph - 10/11/2005 1:18:39 PM

I stole the following:

Theodore Roosevelt Heller
Theodore Roosevelt Heller, 88, loving father of Charles (Joann) Heller; dear brother of the late Sonya (the late Jack) Steinberg. Ted was discharged from the U.S. Army during WWII due to service related injuries, and then forced his way back into the Illinois National Guard insisting no one tells him when to serve his country. Graveside services Tuesday 11 a.m. at Waldheim Jewish Cemetery (Ziditshover section), 1700 S. Harlem Ave., Chicago. In lieu of flowers, please send acerbic letters to Republicans. Arrangements by Chicago Jewish Funerals, Douglas MacIsaac, funeral director 847-229-8822, www.cjfinfo.com.
Published in the Chicago Tribune on 10/10/2005.

Good morning, Mac.

16967. Magoseph - 10/11/2005 1:20:04 PM

16968. Macnas - 10/11/2005 1:51:51 PM

Morning Mago.

16969. jayackroyd - 10/11/2005 2:14:59 PM

Anyone see why this is an impossibility?

It's a stencil.

16970. Magoseph - 10/11/2005 2:50:42 PM

In lieu of flowers, please send acerbic letters to Republicans.

Did anyone notice the above sentence in the obit I posted this morning?

16971. thoughtful - 10/11/2005 3:11:00 PM

This flag suggests that the only part of the crescent moon that is there is the visible part and it is possible to see stars through the dark part. But that is clearly impossible. And certainly there are no stars between the earth and the moon.

16972. alistairconnor - 10/11/2005 3:47:02 PM

No, T, it's a reference to our extraterrestrial ancestors. The ones who left that big rock in Mecca.

16973. thoughtful - 10/11/2005 5:02:04 PM

And what's the problem with this?

16974. alistairconnor - 10/11/2005 5:17:55 PM

cogs can't turn. They lock each other.

Circular deadlock, we call that in my trade.

16975. alistairconnor - 10/11/2005 5:21:05 PM

Speaking of which. I am serving out, to the bitter end (and it is bitter indeed) my three month sentence, having given my notice at the beginning of August.

This is pretty much unheard of, in my trade. Arrangements are made, replacements found, and you're free to go to your new job in a month or two, maximum. It didn't help that I resigned in mid summer, but my employer has handled it badly.

16976. Magoseph - 10/11/2005 5:26:53 PM

Maybe he couldn't stand to let you go, is that it?

16977. alistairconnor - 10/11/2005 5:51:46 PM

There is an element of that, Mago.

The guy does not want to keep me (no problem, I initiated the move after all) and has been dissatisfied for a couple of years (I haven't played the paper trail game well), but he has rejected the proposed replacement candidates, not good enough to replace me.

At times it feels rather like my divorce.

16978. Magoseph - 10/11/2005 7:27:13 PM

Oh, I know, personally, what you mean by that last sentence.
