I have no idea what they are.

17776. alistairconnor - 12/9/2005 4:28:33 PM

marshmallow Mars bar?

17777. Macnas - 12/9/2005 4:31:51 PM

Milky way bars?

They have a kind of mallow muck in them.

Here's a description stolen from Salon:

they sound like what we used to call scooter pies.

I guess other people called them moon pies

I used to consume a lot of them as a wee one but now the thought of them makes me cringe...way too sweet.

They were graham cracker cookie sandwich filled with marshmallow fluff of sorts and coated completely in chocolate.

thoughtful and alistaire, I guess you got me. (and da Vinci invented the helicopter, the submarine, etc.) Oldsmobile introduced the first successful frontwheel production car in the U.S.

When I used to eat chocolate, I'd like most anything made by cadbury or Fox or rountree.

I believe that Hershey do not know how to make chocolate.

Hi, dear, very dear Ms. No--I'm jealous because you went in other threads and missed this one. How are you this beautiful winter day? I am knitting the sweater for my DIL after all now. She won't have it for a good long while, though.

17784. Ms. No - 12/9/2005 7:19:44 PM

Good morning, Magoseph!

Honestly, I'd been here and thought I posted. I had to take a call in the middle of it and then I went to look up Moon Pies on the web and I got sidetracked.

I'd love to see a picture of the sweater when you finish! I wish I could knit, but I've been happily creating leather hair ornaments this week. I've done a bunch of pseudo-Monarch Butterflies and I'm hoping to find a couple of turtles for specific friends, but I'll likely buy a bag of plain ovals that I can embellish however I like.

My friend is going to be hitting the Swap Meets after the first of the year and has offered to sell them if I get enough made.

We are not supposed to advertise stuff here, but I would like to put in a word for Unicef's Christmas cards. They are less kitschy than most and you contribute a little something to the world's children. There are several designs. Her are two.

This is for Linnea.

Is there a timer on it so that you could combine the homey smell of coffee brewing with the light coming on and feel like you're waking up to company or something?

Well, no one told me this when I took over this thread, so go ahead, Pelle, until you have a good reason to stop me.:-)

By the way, I saw a post from Linnea this morning, but I can't find it now.

17790. Linnea - 12/9/2005 9:47:35 PM

Kiitos, Pelle.

Nice cards from Unicef.

We support the Irish Guide Dogs For The Blind, and were at the Christmas party yesterday.
Nice choir, some mulled wine and mince pies, santa and gifts for the small man, and a walk around to see the fantastic dogs they rear and train.

Mostly labradors, with the odd golden retriever and alsatian. A very worthwhile cause.

I'm off to Australia on Thursday, to spend Christmas with #3 son, his wife and our new granddaughter, so I'm wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, well in advance.

17793. Macnas - 12/13/2005 10:46:03 AM

Happy Christmas Snow!

17794. wonkers2 - 12/13/2005 2:39:01 PM

Feliz viaje, SnowOwl.
