Hard load, that.

Might if I knew what it was.

"Being a lifetime wife and mother has afforded me the luxury of having multiple and even simultaneous careers: I’ve been a chauffeur. A chef. An interior decorator. A landscape architect, as well as a gardener. I’ve been a painter. A furniture restorer. A personal shopper. A veterinarian’s assistant and sometimes the veterinarian.... An accountant, a banker, and on occasion, a broker. I’ve been a beautician. A map. A psychic. Santa Claus. The Tooth Fairy. The T.V. Guide. A movie reviewer. An angel. God....For a long time I have felt like I inadvertently got my master’s in How to Take Care of Everybody Except Yourself and then a Ph.D. in How to Pretend Like You Don’t Mind. But I do mind."

Terry McMillan - Author

What that book I just title quoted?
I didn't know your hub was sick.
I had a miscarriage several months ago....not to say that your troubles are less....but that book I quoted dealt with miscarriage and husband ickysickness and inlawness crazies...
18593. Ulgine Barrows - 2/17/2006 12:28:28 PM
Yeah, that's the blurb on the inside cover.
18594. Magoseph - 2/17/2006 12:28:53 PM
She's a complainer, though, Ulgine.
18595. Ulgine Barrows - 2/17/2006 12:31:41 PM
well...anyway... if you need a laugh in between your hub dying, you might read that....your post sounded so stark and final and desperate, do you have other family close by?
18596. Ulgine Barrows - 2/17/2006 12:33:03 PM
aaaaaah.....we crossposted and I don't know who is complaining
18597. Magoseph - 2/17/2006 12:35:18 PM
Terry McMillan is the complainer, not me.
I could tell quite a bit about … husband ickysickness and inlawness crazies... you know.--now in retrospective, I think that my attitude toward these people was really the problem.
18598. Magoseph - 2/17/2006 12:38:32 PM
....your post sounded so stark and final and desperate, do you have other family close by?
I didn't mean it that way, but you're sweet to care. Yes, plenty of family around and good friends, maybe too many of them butting in..:)

Well there are some lines that are easy to miss in her books that may redeem her, and I could go get the book and drag us through this, but we could talk about something else.
I'm open to a new topic.
18600. Ulgine Barrows - 2/17/2006 12:46:04 PM
Such as Rachyl Ray, and her new recipes.
18601. Ulgine Barrows - 2/17/2006 12:47:21 PM
Or the air guns my son wants us to buy for his 11th birthday.
18602. Ulgine Barrows - 2/17/2006 12:48:34 PM
Or how you don't feel your time is your own, but make it snappy.
18603. Magoseph - 2/17/2006 12:58:44 PM
Yes, that last topic sounds good, Ulgine, and Rachael's 30 minutes from start to finish meals are too much for me, 15 minutes top is my speed the way we eat.
Make time for yourself, one way or the other.
18604. Ulgine Barrows - 2/17/2006 1:12:24 PM
Rachael's 30 minutes are a complete lie,she arranges the stuff and has her minions chop it up on commercial breaks.
I like her recipes a lot, they are good, but they are no way 30 minutes!
