Work Ulgine, it gets in my way all the time.

18614. Ms. No - 2/17/2006 7:50:45 PM

Ah, Ulgine, I'm sorry I missed you. I was out with the girls last night --- actually I was "in" with the girls and it was just a couple of us rather than the whole crew but it was our regular monthly gathering and I try not to miss them ever.

I've got a big rubber pad that goes under my granite block to absorb the impact when I'm hammering things on it. It's a "pound-o" board, basically and it's about a foot square and half an inch thick so it's good for cutting on but I have to keep moving it if what I'm cutting is bigger/longer than a foot.

I'm thrilled because the more I've turned this hide to cut parts out of it the more of it I've been able to use. I knew I had enough but figured I'd have a lot of odd shapes left over and wouldn't know what to do with them, but it turns out I've got enough to make an interior pocket and to change the design of the strap and some of the fittings. I may have very little left over at all which makes me quite happy.

Hey, drop me an email at bridgeburner99@yahoo.com if you get a minute.

It is 15 degrees now and it will be -8 tonight. The paper issued warnings to the population.

Wonkers, how it is at your place?

18616. judithathome - 2/18/2006 12:30:02 AM

Doc just called...X-ray was not helpful. I have to have an MRI.

18617. wonkers2 - 2/18/2006 12:31:13 AM

Not bad today, Mago, sunny and around 25. Thanks for the warning. We usually get your weather a day or so later.

18618. thoughtful - 2/18/2006 12:53:35 AM

what now juds?

18619. arkymalarky - 2/18/2006 2:44:49 AM

Hmmm. I hope all goes well and you get it done and through with whatever's the problem asap.

I was supposed to have class all day tomorrow (we're going two full Saturdays in place of four Thursday nights), but it was cancelled. Nothing falling now, and it may not, but several people drive to class from Little Rock or Hot Springs, and they may get more than we do down here. I won't want to go when it's rescheduled--I'd really prefer just going Tuesday nights to giving up a Saturday--but I'm glad not to go tomorrow. I was off today and I'm off Monday.

18620. arkymalarky - 2/18/2006 2:46:00 AM

Tuesday nights, not Thursdays.

18621. judithathome - 2/18/2006 3:31:23 AM

Thoughtful, right now, nothing. I can't have the MRI scheduled until the insurance says it's okay so I'm just waiting on that.

18622. Magoseph - 2/18/2006 1:19:18 PM

Good morning, it was -9 a couple of hours ago--it felt like -33, a record for the area, according to the Weather Channel. I've been up since three, checking the cars, practically skating to the garage.

Wonks, you probably won’t get this weather—looks like it went straight south. It’ll be 30 above this week starting Tuesday.

18623. wonkers2 - 2/18/2006 3:17:04 PM

Good. Looks like we have a nice sunny morning in Motown. Not sure how cold. I haven't gone out to get the papers yet.

18624. wonkers2 - 2/18/2006 3:20:06 PM

Brrh! Pretty brisk. The paper says 9-15F today.

18625. arkymalarky - 2/18/2006 5:03:06 PM

Not nearly as cold here, but slicker'n owlshit outside and still falling.

18626. wonkers2 - 2/18/2006 5:11:10 PM

In these parts we say gooseshit, which I have on good authority is much slicker'n owlshit! And there's much more of it around here, at least.

18627. arkymalarky - 2/18/2006 5:18:15 PM

I won't go so far as to test your authority against mine (which isn't firsthand, either).

18628. Ulgine Barrows - 2/19/2006 9:28:06 AM

Eh, you're right Magoseph, it turned out to be a complaint book, in the end.

But there were some pretty funny zingers in it.

I hadn't read her previous books, and only saw part of the movie, Waiting to Exhale.

Sorry I missed you too, Ms.No, glad to hear you were industrious with all your leather.

18629. Ulgine Barrows - 2/19/2006 9:29:25 AM

hahaha. bridgeburner99@yahoo.com, what an email.

18630. Ulgine Barrows - 2/19/2006 10:53:29 AM

magoseph, didn't the "glue little glass beads to his penis" make you laugh JUST A LITTLE?

18631. judithathome - 2/19/2006 5:28:24 PM

We went to a play yesterday that made us laugh a lot!
Crimes of the Heart....
very funny story of three sisters in the south. The cast was uniformly talented and did the accents perfectly.

I had to wear the boot cast thing and did okay but we skipped going out to dinner afterward with our friends because after sitting there for two hours, I was pretty uncomfortable and in no mood to limp to a restaurant.

Plus it was icey on bridges and we saw about 5 collisions on our way to the theatre.

18632. Magoseph - 2/19/2006 10:11:33 PM

A LITTLE?

A lot, Ulgine, I must say.

Still bitter weather around here--no one walks outside. Butch and I slide on the ice when he has to go. Tomorrow starts a string of good days--around here thirty degrees is a good day.

Glad you made it home all right, Judith.
