18626. wonkers2 - 2/18/2006 5:11:10 PM In these parts we say gooseshit, which I have on good authority is much slicker'n owlshit! And there's much more of it around here, at least. 18627. arkymalarky - 2/18/2006 5:18:15 PM I won't go so far as to test your authority against mine (which isn't firsthand, either). 18628. Ulgine Barrows - 2/19/2006 9:28:06 AM Eh, you're right Magoseph, it turned out to be a complaint book, in the end.
But there were some pretty funny zingers in it.
I hadn't read her previous books, and only saw part of the movie, Waiting to Exhale.
Sorry I missed you too, Ms.No, glad to hear you were industrious with all your leather. 18629. Ulgine Barrows - 2/19/2006 9:29:25 AM hahaha. bridgeburner99@yahoo.com, what an email. 18630. Ulgine Barrows - 2/19/2006 10:53:29 AM magoseph, didn't the "glue little glass beads to his penis" make you laugh JUST A LITTLE? 18631. judithathome - 2/19/2006 5:28:24 PM We went to a play yesterday that made us laugh a lot!
Crimes of the Heart....
very funny story of three sisters in the south. The cast was uniformly talented and did the accents perfectly.
I had to wear the boot cast thing and did okay but we skipped going out to dinner afterward with our friends because after sitting there for two hours, I was pretty uncomfortable and in no mood to limp to a restaurant.
Plus it was icey on bridges and we saw about 5 collisions on our way to the theatre. 18632. Magoseph - 2/19/2006 10:11:33 PM A LITTLE?
A lot, Ulgine, I must say.
Still bitter weather around here--no one walks outside. Butch and I slide on the ice when he has to go. Tomorrow starts a string of good days--around here thirty degrees is a good day.
Glad you made it home all right, Judith.
18633. judithathome - 2/20/2006 1:05:32 AM Follow-up to the play post: we found the movie of the same play running this afternoon! We watched it and enjoyed it as much as the play. 18634. judithathome - 2/20/2006 10:43:19 PM Doc's office called...my MRI is not until FRIDAY. 18635. Ms. No - 2/20/2006 11:36:28 PM Damn! That's a long time to wait. 18636. Ms. No - 2/20/2006 11:37:01 PM I'm having no problem posting, but I can't preview --- or at least I couldn't a minute ago, lemme see if I can now. 18637. Ms. No - 2/20/2006 11:37:33 PM hmmm....maybe it was a sign that I shouldn't have been posting what I was intending to post. I'll have to go back and think about it some more. ;-> 18638. judithathome - 2/20/2006 11:56:07 PM Damn! That's a long time to wait.
No shit! I'll be a Rush-caliber druggie by then!
18639. alistairConnor - 2/21/2006 1:05:24 AM Back from a weekend visiting dearest friends and skiing with the kids... great battery-charging experience.
Gine, when the planets line up right, I'll be there. 18640. alistairConnor - 2/21/2006 1:08:45 AM Ha! just read an email from the friend we visited, from last Thursday...
... suggesting we postpone the visit, because of the awful weather...
... which turned out to be just fine. I'm glad I didn't read the mail (I was in Spain at the time) 18641. judithathome - 2/21/2006 1:10:03 AM Magos, the 30 Minute Meal show is on Food Network right now...despite Ulgine's claim, I see the lady cutting her own veggies. 18642. robertjayb - 2/21/2006 11:08:39 PM Hello, Mote. Where ya been? 18643. PsychProf - 2/21/2006 11:28:34 PM http://worldcrossing.com/WebX?14@@.1de0af68/615

pffft 18645. Ulgine Barrows - 2/22/2006 3:20:33 AM 18641. judithathome, that's not the point...
I can chop my own veggies and make one of those recipes if I have minions gathering all the ingredients and laying them out for my 30-minute spot, or I can gather all the ingredients and have a minion chop them...or if I've made that recipe 3 times, and have all the ingredients ready, it might be 30 minutes.
Like most quick recipe cookbooks, it only works if you happen to carry the same common pantry items as the author.
Actually, Rachyl Ray's pantry is a lot closer to mine than say, Martha's or Martin Yan's.
