No, I'm not throwing my hat in the ring. At this point I am trying to raise political conciousness, among other things. Slow and steady. Winter menu- hearty soups. Summer menu - salads. Alcohol will be served, but I don't expect it to be very popular at lunch time.
Ms.No,
This judge was just reelected with numbers approximating 20,000 yes and 14,000 no. A poor showing which can be interpreted as a strong statement concerning this particular judge, or part of the general backlash against the judiciary and legislature here in PA. There is quite a bit of political hoopla going on the PA right now. The pay raise that was snuck through in the middle of the night has excited the peasants for the moment. From my morning paper -- Casey to justices: Legislative pay raise was illegal Casey is the state treasurer and had challenged Lynn Swann for the Republican gubinatorial position. The Repubs apparently had Swann in mind from the beginning and Swann is now the man.
Thanks, Arky. I was sent a picture of the medal winners via email. I expect there is a way to post it on the Mote, but it would take me half a day to do it. 18792. uzmakk - 3/8/2006 1:20:31 AM I got my politics wrong. Casey is a dem challenging Senator Santorum. Scranton gave up a challenge to Swann. 18793. arkymalarky - 3/8/2006 6:49:07 AM My advice if you're interested in political activism for a particular cause is not to run for anything. Instead of helping your cause more, you constrain your ability to work for it and the amount of time you can devote to it. 18794. Magoseph - 3/8/2006 3:17:36 PM Mac, what an uplifting and pleasant birthday thought, such as I have never before received. Thank you very much, Mac. 18795. Macnas - 3/8/2006 4:00:51 PM My pleasure Mago.
