19288. wonkers2 - 4/28/2006 4:53:31 AM Hey! Where'd you get a Mote T-shirt! 19289. judithathome - 4/28/2006 4:54:31 AM Frankster made them some time ago...I have one, too! 19290. judithathome - 4/28/2006 4:55:13 AM (He made then for his groupies!) 19291. arkymalarky - 4/28/2006 5:02:12 AM It was years ago, but mine still looks great. He posted in the Cafe and took orders from everyone who asked. Maybe you were out of pocket for some reason and missed it, but they have the red Mote logo on a black shirt. Very sharp. 19292. judithathome - 4/28/2006 5:05:35 AM Keoni even got a black golf shirt with the logo. 19293. Adam Selene - 4/28/2006 5:12:54 AM My black T has the tiger with lettering on the back, with the kanji (divine warrior) on the front pocket. And yes, this is where I earned my black belt last spring:
My dojo 19294. Ms. No - 4/28/2006 4:33:22 PM My favorite t-shirt can no longer be worn anywhere but within the privacy of my own home. It's not even really a t-shirt anymore but more a collection of holes tenuously strung together. 19295. iiibbb - 4/28/2006 4:49:52 PM My favorite t-shirts I made myself. 19296. uzmakk - 4/28/2006 5:03:46 PM Speaking of dress, I am sporting a very subdued Guiness motif these days. 19297. uzmakk - 4/28/2006 5:05:29 PM Dojo congratulations, Selene. 19299. uzmakk - 4/28/2006 5:09:50 PM Once upon a time, I had a very soft and pillowy tee that I wore to a fray. 19300. alistairConnor - 4/28/2006 5:12:41 PM I am sporting a very subdued Guiness motif these days.
yeah I'm a messy drinker too. 19301. uzmakk - 4/28/2006 5:14:07 PM Never thought of it, but perhaps I am, Connor. 19302. Adam Selene - 4/28/2006 6:27:33 PM Thanks, uzmakk.
19303. uzmakk - 4/28/2006 6:42:17 PM You're welcome, Selene. I am not a member of a dojo, but my people call me Kills Like the White Tiger. I also fence at this establishment, where I am known as Big Paw.
19304. Adam Selene - 4/28/2006 7:15:51 PM Do they do mixed-sword fights? I've seen mixed martial arts...
I was taught katana (and bo and hanbo and shuriken and knives and ropes/chains...,) but only combat situations, not sport. Not sure how I'd do with rules... a lot of what we learned are what my Dad calls "dirty fighting." (Which sounds redundant to me.)
Anyway - fencing is cool, and a great workout. Congrats to you. 19305. uzmakk - 4/28/2006 7:19:26 PM Thank you. My son, Tiger Spawn, is fencing at the Nationals in Atlanta this summer. 19306. uzmakk - 4/28/2006 7:46:01 PM Combat Adam,
Pure sport fencing, no mixed weapons, a bit of Ren fighting purely for fun, sword and choice of additional weapon. Tiger Spawn was invited to one of these invitation only events a number of weeks ago. About as serious as it gets before it gets too dangerous. 19307. uzmakk - 4/28/2006 7:52:03 PM Can't get link to work. If you are interested go back to the previous link. Click "Articles" and then "point d' arret". 19308. iiibbb - 4/28/2006 8:52:48 PM I want to learn aikido, judo, or ju-jitsu. I wrestled in high school. Grappling and bending people the wrong way appeals to my nature.
My fiance is a black belt in Karate. She studies aikido.
One of the things keeping me out of martial arts is the mock discipline and formality with respect for sensei. I'm not really into all the yelling. Got enough of that in boy scouts.
I'd rather someone just teach me.
