Jenerator, how are your plans for opening your shop coming along?

I may still open one myself, but it will probably be five years down the road or more. I happened to fall into a position that is rapidly bringing my software skills back up to date. It's too good of an opportunity to pass up, or at least seems to be right now. :)

If you count yourself "colorful and interesting" and have something to contribute you think will improve the content, by all means do so.

Who is tmesis?

19859. Jenerator - 7/26/2006 4:40:15 AM

Sakonige,

The place we had scouted out suddenly wanted too much money which was really frustrating! We were the first people to show any interest in the site in 4 years. They were asking for more than $5K a month!

Anyway, we decided to wait and go in with some partners in a couple of years. Unless of course, someone beats us to the market. Dallas is RIPE.

Btw, the location we wanted now has a shitty taco shop inside it that isn't doing well.

What's your favorite pastry now? Least favorite?

Baking is an art. Anything involving philo impresses me.

Wow, how difficult is it to fake it for a few posts before insulting people, tmesis? Ha!

Jen,

We went to Dickie's BBQ in Mesquite -- it's a chain so there are others, but that's the one my Aunt always went to with my Mamaw after their movie dates so it was kind of tradition.

Sakonige,

Good to see you and glad to hear you're doing well.

Hi Juditha,

Well, you didn't miss a great show tonight although there were some incredible voices and Melba Moore completely dominated the production. Loved, loved, loved her, but she was the only interesting character and while the songs for the show had plenty of room for vocal acrobatics hers were the only ones that were truly interesting and that was due primarily to her skill as a performer.

Cap Dirty sez, "Pseudo got married and is evidently pussy-whipped with no time to participate."

Hello, Mac! How is the family?

19867. Macnas - 7/26/2006 9:40:03 AM

Very good Mago.

How's Flexi doing?

19868. Magoseph - 7/26/2006 11:19:17 AM

Coming along, Mac, thanks--he has enough of being handicapped, he says, but he must be patient for another six weeks or so before his sight is up to par, according to the surgeon. The tear in his eye slows the recovery some, but two of the four stitches were taken out yesterday.

19869. Macnas - 7/26/2006 12:37:02 PM

Ouch!

19870. alistairConnor - 7/26/2006 4:10:11 PM

Golly, France is hot.

Incredibly good luck with the holiday choices : Normandy could have been cool and muddy, instead it was the best place in France to do some serious cycling in a developing heatwave.

And what a great summer to visit Ireland! They were complaining about the heat and drought, but we were never seriously inconvenienced, to put it mildly : i.e. we were only cold a couple of times, and it's true that it only rained on us two days out of seven.

We got home at 2.15 this morning. Off the boat in Normandy at midday, and all the way across a sweltering France (only 35 degrees or so, but we don't have air conditioned cars and the like). Good to be home, the courgettes have gone feral, and we'll get some serious tomatoes soon.

Great to meet Macnas, it's an extraordinary thing to put a voice and a face on someone I've known for so long. I think he was a little bit freaked out by the experience, never met a virtual person before... We will surely meet again.

19872. arkymalarky - 7/26/2006 5:08:02 PM

Sounds like a great trip all around.

It's cloudy here today, and I'm afraid to even dare to hope for rain. We haven't had rain since early June in our yard.

But we do have well water again, thank goodness.

19873. Macnas - 7/26/2006 5:32:21 PM

It was really good meeting Alistair and his enchanting daughters, not to mention the famous van.

The calvados is going down a storm by the way. Next time you are here, we'll plan it a bit better and I'll get you some poitin.

19874. Jenerator - 7/26/2006 5:44:46 PM

That's so neat you two met - I don't suppose someone tooka picture?

19875. Jenerator - 7/26/2006 5:48:07 PM

Ms.No,

Dickey's is good. Did you know that Ross Perot eats at the one in downtown Plano when he's here?

You'll have to give Sonny Bryant on Inwood a shot - they're fantastic! Also, JWs on Industrial has the most delicious ribs, but who wants to drive down to the Lew Sterritt area just for BBQ!?

;-)
