We have one cat on our feet every night, winter and summer.

20896. judithathome - 1/18/2007 6:31:23 AM

My cat is still so small, she wouldn't cover a foot, much less two.

She has her own bedroom, anyhow. Around 9pm every night, I go into Keoni's bathroom and plug in this little space heater that I put on the countertop...it has a thermostat and cuts off when the room is warm enough...and Harley walks right in and goes into the linen closet where her little fleece bed is and climbs right in.

Everyone says we should give her the run of the house at night but she gets into too much trouble doing that during the day. And on really cold days, she goes into her "bedroom" in the afternoons for naps. She's almost like a dog in that regard.

j@h how is harly's nose?

And of course we had a dentist in town named Dr. Pulley.

There's one in every town. Here, we have Dr. Toothout.
Is that sick humor, or what?

Maybe I'll put an ad in the local catholic paper, for my cleaning services: Our Lady Of Perpetual Squalor.
No, I think not.

20899. Ulgine Barrows - 1/18/2007 11:51:20 AM

mmm, that small hilarity was for you, Magoseph.
Happy New Year.

20900. Magoseph - 1/18/2007 4:26:59 PM

I'm glad you stopped by, Ulgine--I wish you the best year in your life.

20901. judithathome - 1/18/2007 9:59:35 PM

Woke up sick as a dog at 3am and probably won't be on-line much today. Note to self: when you have the propensity for developing diviticulitis, don't forget and eat corn with your dinner.

I thought I would die... this is the first attack in over a year and it was undoubtedly the worst I've ever had.

Patsy, Harley's nose is as good as new...the hair came back in a little blond stripe. She looks quite fashionable.

20902. Magoseph - 1/19/2007 7:14:12 PM

How are you this morning, Judith?

20903. judithathome - 1/19/2007 9:01:59 PM

Still feel dreadful. And hungry...afraid to eat much and what I am eating is blah. Toast, plain rice...blah blah blah.

20904. arkymalarky - 1/20/2007 5:02:10 AM

Sounds rough. And aren't y'all about to get more ice?

20905. judithathome - 1/20/2007 3:40:59 PM

It's been raining since late yesterday afternoon and I think it's supposed to ice over tonight.

Had to cancel out on a Fellini party tonight, one of the "must go"s of the year. There's no way I could make it. Our friend who has this party is the foremost Fellini expert in the US and his parties are always fantastic...tonight his special guest is an Italian film director who was close friends with Fellini and they're screening a little-seen-outside-Italy film. Iy makes me sick, sicker than I am (ha!) that we'll miss this one!

20906. wonkers2 - 1/20/2007 5:50:56 PM

My first Fellini movie was "La Dolce Vita." "Bebe plus latte!" was the caption on the billboards featuring a decolletage shot of Anita Eckberg.

Wishing you a speedy recovery, J@H.

One of the first foreign movies I saw preceded "Mafioso"--it was "Bitter Rice" starring Sylvana Mangano and Vittorio Gassman. I don't remember the plot, except that Mangano was beautiful and quite sexy, and Gassman was the personnification of evil. Mangano preceded Sophia Loren as Italy's sexiest actress, if memory serves me. But she was never in the same league as an actress as Sophia Loren. My film guide says Bitter Rice came out in 1949. I must be getting old!

20909. judithathome - 1/21/2007 6:48:44 AM

But she was never in the same league as an actress as Sophia Loren

I think you have that backwards...

20910. wonkers2 - 1/21/2007 6:51:29 AM

Maybe. But she didn't make as many pictures or as much money as Loren or Gina Lollobrigida for that matter. I thought she did a great job in "Bitter Rice." I don't remember seeing her again after that.

20911. judithathome - 1/22/2007 12:01:32 AM

You never saw The Rose Tattoo?

She was a dynamic actress, far superior to those other two you mentioned, and she did it without the boon of good looks and big tits.

20912. TheWizardOfWhimsy - 1/22/2007 12:32:24 AM

Judith, you must be drugged or getting like Emily Latella. You're confusing Anna Magnani with Sylvana Mangano–different people and different movies.

20913. TheWizardOfWhimsy - 1/22/2007 12:40:45 AM

Oh, and another thing, Anna Magnani's "tits" weren't small an definitely part of her persona and "the act."

20914. judithathome - 1/22/2007 1:52:33 AM

I may be drugged but I'm not confusing the two...Anna was in The Rose Tattoo and she was great.

I realized after I posted that she DID have a rack but unlike Loren, wasn't know for that alone. ;-)
