Oops. That was to No.

It's been Monday all day.

I'd love to have you! We're only a couple hours from San Francisco, too, and that's a fun daytrip. I keep hoping my brother will bring the boys up so we can go to the railroad museum -- as if I can't go without my nephews. Sheesh!

22901. wonkers2 - 11/13/2007 2:27:08 AM

I've been to the Railroad Museum. It's unique and worth a visit.

Hey No, I've got a friend who teaches French at an Australian university, she managed to get her students to stage a performance of La Cantatrice Chauve (the Bald opera singer) in French... I'd have liked to see that one... the Australian accent would add a whole new layer of surrealism...

Hydrogen? It's not an energy source, only a means of storing energy, and not a very practical one for the moment...
People drone on about a future "hydrogen economy", but I'll believe it when I see it. Maybe people will have domestic hydrogen fuel cells instead of boilers, that will generate both electricity and heat. We'll see, but it's 15 or 20 years away, at a minimum. And I won't be replacing my boiler then because wood pellets are a sustainable, carbon-neutral source of heating.

Ah I'd love to do a karaoke night with you folks... My proposition : everyone has to choose a Booker T track and improvise a vocal on it. OK?

22905. JayAckroyd - 11/13/2007 3:51:52 PM

Great to see wonkers name in today's NYT letters.

22906. Magoseph - 11/13/2007 4:07:54 PM

Thank you, Jay Jay--how's everything for you and family?

I'm okay. Dog is getting old.

22908. JayAckroyd - 11/13/2007 4:13:57 PM

The most interesting thing I've been doing is interviews in Second Life.

Just got Ned Lamont scheduled for 1/10. Chris Mooney (The war on science) this week.

22909. TheWizardOfWhimsy - 11/13/2007 5:07:03 PM

Kudos and congrats to Jay and Wonk!

22910. JayAckroyd - 11/13/2007 6:05:22 PM

hey wiz. How are you doing?

22911. Ms. No - 11/13/2007 6:10:17 PM

AC,

I know nuthin' about it except that a friend of mine is out working on some hydrogen converting or powered something or other in his barn.

And please oh please oh please don't make me improv --- I've never gotten very good at it. Too self-conscious for the most part.

22912. Ms. No - 11/13/2007 6:10:34 PM

Hiya Jay!!

22913. TheWizardOfWhimsy - 11/13/2007 6:40:48 PM

hey wiz. How are you doing?

Polically depressed and aging (like us all), but otherwise, no complaints. Studio life is more gratifying than I ever hoped it might be.

[Your Avatar is a bit spooky, btw -- and the avatars at your site are too -- it may be the nature of avatars, I guess?]

22914. JayAckroyd - 11/13/2007 7:42:27 PM

yes, the lack of facial expression is, I believe, at the heart of it.

OTOH, you are not limited to the laws of physics in creating av features.

22915. JayAckroyd - 11/13/2007 7:42:44 PM

Hey No.

22916. TheWizardOfWhimsy - 11/13/2007 8:36:35 PM

Every good wish for success!

22917. wonkers2 - 11/13/2007 9:57:50 PM

My letter to the editor on health care appeared in the NYTimes today. Wonkers on Health Care

22918. TheWizardOfWhimsy - 11/13/2007 10:00:33 PM
