He is going to have him take Plavix (?) and alter his diet to help with the vascular disease he has now. The worst blockage he has is 60%...in some veins it is 40%...and he said the criteria he uses for this surgery is 70% and that as of now, Leslie has enough blood flow to avoid surgery. The doctor told him to monitor himself and look for difficulty swallowing, slurring of his speech, and loss of balance. If those things occur, to call the doctor immediately but until then, eat healthily and exercise moderately and to come back to see him in six months.
This is SUCH a relief to us...Les and I both admitted to each other that we had been really scared about his having the surgery. And the doctor admitted that surgery might have left him worse off than he is now. So everyone is breathing a sigh of relief today 22921.
