Kudos and congrats to Jay and Wonk!

22910. JayAckroyd - 11/13/2007 6:05:22 PM

hey wiz. How are you doing?

22911. Ms. No - 11/13/2007 6:10:17 PM

AC,

I know nuthin' about it except that a friend of mine is out working on some hydrogen converting or powered something or other in his barn.

And please oh please oh please don't make me improv --- I've never gotten very good at it. Too self-conscious for the most part.

22912. Ms. No - 11/13/2007 6:10:34 PM

Hiya Jay!!

22913. TheWizardOfWhimsy - 11/13/2007 6:40:48 PM

hey wiz. How are you doing?

Polically depressed and aging (like us all), but otherwise, no complaints. Studio life is more gratifying than I ever hoped it might be.

[Your Avatar is a bit spooky, btw -- and the avatars at your site are too -- it may be the nature of avatars, I guess?]

22914. JayAckroyd - 11/13/2007 7:42:27 PM

yes, the lack of facial expression is, I believe, at the heart of it.

OTOH, you are not limited to the laws of physics in creating av features.

Hey No.

22916. TheWizardOfWhimsy - 11/13/2007 8:36:35 PM

Every good wish for success!

22917. wonkers2 - 11/13/2007 9:57:50 PM

My letter to the editor on health care appeared in the NYTimes today. Wonkers on Health Care

22918. TheWizardOfWhimsy - 11/13/2007 10:00:33 PM

We know, look above for your kudos, wonk.

22919. judithathome - 11/13/2007 11:01:32 PM

Yes, I read the first one and thought...oh wow, Wonks is named RITA!

22920. judithathome - 11/13/2007 11:01:53 PM

My son met with the neurosurgeon today and the doctor has decided that surgery is not necessary at this time. He is going to have him take Plavix (?) and alter his diet to help with the vascular disease he has now. The worst blockage he has is 60%...in some veins it is 40%...and he said the criteria he uses for this surgery is 70% and that as of now, Leslie has enough blood flow to avoid surgery. The doctor told him to monitor himself and look for difficulty swallowing, slurring of his speech, and loss of balance. If those things occur, to call the doctor immediately but until then, eat healthily and exercise moderately and to come back to see him in six months.

This is SUCH a relief to us...Les and I both admitted to each other that we had been really scared about his having the surgery. And the doctor admitted that surgery might have left him worse off than he is now. So everyone is breathing a sigh of relief today

Wonk, check out post 22906--I beat you to it!

22922. JayAckroyd - 11/13/2007 11:46:16 PM

Actually *I* beat him to it. Pleasant treat this morning wonk.

Did they ask you to change it much?

22923. Magoseph - 11/14/2007 12:17:47 AM

Of course, you did, Jay, and I thanked you for the mention of the letter--I was just talking about about posting the link to the Times.

By the way, I registered to Second Life and I chose the only last name that fitted me--Frog. So far, I'm having fun with the site trying the tools.

22924. wonkers2 - 11/14/2007 12:25:12 AM

Thanks Jay, Mago and Wiz! That'll teach me to shoot first and aim after. I couldn't wait long enough to check upstream before telling my Motie friends about my letter. (I send ten for every one that's used.)

22925. arkymalarky - 11/14/2007 12:34:19 AM

Hey Jay!!!

And Congrats to Wonk!

And to Judith on the news about Leslie! That's got to be a relief.

22926. wonkers2 - 11/14/2007 1:16:41 AM

Yeah, good to see you back, Jay.

22927. wonkers2 - 11/14/2007 1:17:10 AM

Thanks, Arky.

22928. wabbit - 11/14/2007 1:25:20 AM

What a treat to see you, Jay! I see the Bigels are staying on land for now.
