For a long time several people have been looking for a way to link in photos. Geocities blocked linking a year or so ago, but guess what? Yahoo briefcase still works, and you have 30mb of space instead of the 12mb you get at Geocities.
Try it; be warned, it sounds more complicated than it is.
Anyone with a Yahoo email address should be able to do this.
- Go to the Yahoo home page and click on Briefcase, or you can go to the Briefcase page directly, and sign in.
- I leave the default folder setup as it is, but you can change it if you want. Type in the confirmation code and submit.
- Next, you will be at the Briefcase home page. Click on "Add Files".
- On the next page, I usually create an "images" folder, but do as you will. Hit the "Select" button.
- You will be at an upload page where you can upload images and name them. Browse to your images, select them, name them, and when you are done, hit the "Upload" button at the bottom of the page.
- Be patient and eventually your images will have been uploaded. Hit the "Back to Folder" button.
- Click on the name of the image you want to link.
- When the page with the image opens, right-click on the image, then left-click on "Properties" and copy the Address (URL). This is the image source you need for linking.
Back at the Mote, write your image link:
<img src="URL" width="400">
Your image should be visible, at least until Yahoo gets around to blocking this.
