25494. judithathome - 8/3/2009 12:16:43 AM Understand and appreciate the sentiment totally! 25495. anomie - 8/3/2009 3:19:22 AM Just back from doing a few days of Vegas tourist duty with a visitor. Nice to see the variety of posts in the thread, and Rdbrewer too. One of the things we did is see the Cirque Du Soliel, Beatles show "Love". Those songs make an old hippie cry, if for nothing else than the clarity and quality of the music. I understand the music was remixed, but wow! 25496. arkymalarky - 8/3/2009 7:40:10 PM Oh Judith, how wonderful for you to say that! We feel the very same.
We rode the golf cart yesterday and Leslie is in our favorite areas--especially, for me, overlooking the road and pasture. It's a really wonderful feeling for us on the trail. This was a very special gathering and we are so honored that Judith wanted to share it and our place with Leslie! 25497. arkymalarky - 8/4/2009 1:29:05 AM Hope the x-ray shows everything looking great, Wabbit! Having my sinus surgery Thurs and hoping to feel a lot better this school year as a result. 25498. robertjayb - 8/4/2009 5:04:31 AM Good news! I was about to post a prompt (nag) for you to schedule the septoplasty. 25499. arkymalarky - 8/4/2009 6:05:39 AM Thanks! 25500. arkymalarky - 8/4/2009 6:19:44 AM Btw, I really appreciate the encouragement and info I've gotten here wrt to septoplasty over the years. I'll probably be cussing y'all Friday, so I thought I'd better thank you now! ;-) 25501. arkymalarky - 8/4/2009 11:58:57 PM Well, surgery's postponed. My heart rate's too high and I'm going on a beta blocker. I'm going to try to reschedule for Labor Day weekend. 25502. wabbit - 8/5/2009 12:18:30 AM Oh man, that sucks. Couldn't pass it off as nerves? 25503. arkymalarky - 8/5/2009 12:48:42 AM Ha! This was my heart doc and he thought I'd be low enough by Thurs with the beta blocker, but the ent wanted to see if it did the job first. I've had a high heart rate since I was a teen except when I had hypo-thyroidism. Mose has it too, and Bro and Dad are on beta blockers. The good news is that the heart doc thought it might help my migraines.
And to be honest, I was struggling to do the things I needed to before surgery and be ready for school to start, and getting it done over Labor Day weekend will be a lot easier. Now I have a few days to relax and get my work done and I feel less stressed. Which may be why my heart rate was 102, but like I say, I've always been like that, so this could end up being another problem solved! 25504. Wombat - 8/5/2009 5:10:57 PM iiibbb: Congrats! Boy will your life change.
rdb: I shudder to think how much you weighed before. I am about half-way through losing 80.
Arky: Downers maybe? You will be better after the operation, I promise. 25505. arkymalarky - 8/5/2009 5:39:21 PM Thanks. I'll be glad when it's over. I'm going to reschedule Monday.
Wow, these are amazing weight loss stories. Btw, Judith looked fantastic at the gathering. She had posted here a while back about losing 40. I was feeling good about losing 10, but I need to knock out 20 more at least. 25506. arkymalarky - 8/7/2009 5:08:12 PM I've got to brag on the child I raised. My daughter loves her mom so much that for my 50th birtday she got me not an episode, not a season, but THE ENTIRE BOXED SET of GILLIGAN'S ISLAND! 25507. judithathome - 8/7/2009 7:28:19 PM It's a wise child who knows.....
;-) 25508. Ms. No - 8/8/2009 3:36:53 AM Hey, when did you do Five-O???? 25509. arkymalarky - 8/8/2009 4:04:40 AM July 30! So the gathering was extra special for me this year. But it was extra special for a lot of reasons. 25510. arkymalarky - 8/8/2009 5:09:25 AM July 30! So the gathering was extra special for me this year. But it was extra special for a lot of reasons. 25511. Ms. No - 8/8/2009 5:46:06 PM A very happy belated, Arky! I did raise a glass last weekend thinking of you all and knowing what a wonderful time was being had. Making the trip out with Judith and Keoni that year is still one of my absolute best vacations! 25512. judithathome - 8/8/2009 6:36:55 PM Well, we've decided that in addition to Ronnie's infamous brisket, next year we're going to try and do Shoyu (Hawaiian) Chicken, too.
Might have to cook it all day at Jim's house if Ronnie does the brisket at your place. But that would not be a problem...wait...does he even HAVE an oven? 25513. Ms. No - 8/8/2009 7:20:15 PM Ooh, Judith! Does Keoni have a recipe for Khaluah pork that I don't have to dig a pit in the backyard for?
