I waited for a reply but realized you must have gotten busy. Today is not a great day to converse unless you like talking to a person on muscle relaxants and pain meds. Darn it all.

Ongoing feud between him and my wife concerning the liberties he takes with their parents. He's got issues (had a heart attack 5 years ago and has been living with parents ever since. Won't get a job... won't change his lifestyle... might be bipolar. He has no sense of boundaries.
P's lost her tolerance for it all.
He sent an email to me and her a few days essentially telling us how much progress he's made, but P's got a lot of problems...
... I responded politely...
But his second email indicates that he has no concept about people's boundaries and how his sometimes bizarre interactions with P colors her view about his progress (he seems to save some sort of drama for each of our visits... probably out of stress... mostly because he wants P to acknowledge is progress)
At one point a few years ago I told P that if her parents pass and he's not on his feet he can never live with us. He's been angry with her and attributed the comment about never living with us to her (not sure how he came to hear it... but whatever). I fessed up. I told him that was all me... that we'd do what we could to make sure he got on his feet, but I wouldn't be able to live with him in my house (because he trashes places he lives and takes liberties).

Were I you, I'd stay out of the family drama; easy to say, difficult to do but it's the wisest choice. Even if siblings hate each other, in a battle, they will side with one another and probably turn on you.
