I've got an urgent question that if someone could respond to in the next few hours I would appreciate it.
I just got a cashier's check from my Dad but he kind of got my name a bit mixed up. He has my middle name first, and my first name as just as an initial after my middle name.
So it's not exactly wrong, but the first and middle name are swapped and the wrong one is shown as an initial. Should I try to cash it as it stands, or should my Dad make some notation with his signature that fixes this?

I'd just take it in and try to cash it and not say a thing. If they say something, tell them your dad made the mistake because you go by your middle name.
If they still don't take it, they weren't going to take it anyway. 26847. thoughtful - 3/5/2012 2:36:10 PM I'd take it to the bank and deposit it in the ATM. No one will notice when they process all those checks whenever/wherever that is done.
I had accidentally swapped checks for rent and electric for my MIL way back. The utility deposited the huge check that wasnt made out to them...the landlord came back at me right away to complain that the check was wrong and too small. 26848.
