AC, I posted the above before i read your last post...you'll probably find the article interesting as well.

Speaking of college--again: Wombette will be going to Ithaca College in NY state, not Quinnipiac. Ithaca contacted her two weeks ago to inform her that they had a place in their combined BS/DPT program. Since Ithaca was her first choice, she is happy to go there instead.

Reid finished his first year at Fresno State and is very happy with the experience. His end of the year review from his coach was also very lauditory and comes with a 30% scholarship for next year!

Bravo! How laudable!

Excellent!

thought, I agree with you on ordering more tests for the revenue it brings in. One would have hoped by 2012 a good part of the fraud in the medical profession was under control. Little wonder it drove you nuts with being called back as you were.
Let me tell you a story about fraud and the medical profession, and this includes insurance companies as well. When I was working very long hours as a Medical Advocate and Consultant the federal law stated that if a person turned in a doctor or hospital or insurance company when they saw fraud going on...it not only would be investigated but the person bringing it to the attention of the feds and state officials would receive 25% of what they collected from these low lifes. In the height of my working as an advocate I opened a savings account and in 8 years I had $7000 in it which came straight from our government. I was grandfathered into the Whistle Blower Act so no one could touch me. There were plenty of people in the profession who didn't like me or enjoy seeing me walk into their facility with a client of mine but it never bothered me...all the years..and I still take cases..have I ever cared about anyone but my client. There were also so many people who would walk by me in public but who either called me or wrote me what a good job I was doing and often name names, as the saying goes. I got leads from doctors and nurses all the time. I never disclosed this as I knew they were doing the best they could by getting in touch with me.

I gave the $7000 to the Alzheimer's Association.

Good for you ms. greer. There is something about 'professions' that manage to protect themselves from proper scrutiny and/or competitive forces to ensure greater quality and efficiency and less fraud and corruption. Drs and Lawyers come to mind, and so do members of the old boys clubs... corporate and political. More power to the people, like you, who manage to root out such problems.

Helloooooo....

I couldn't access the Mote yesterday for about 4 hours.

Obviously, that glitch is cured.....

Have a good Memorial Day, everyone!

Our company left this afternoon for Hawaii...I have to say, Keoni's brother's adopted family are delightful. My new nieces are the best behaved little girls I've ever met...they're delightful! Well-mannered and able to entertain themselves. Bright and even have well-developed senses of humor.

The cats have finally relaxed...not sure they enjoyed the girls as much as we did. Ha!

26952. arkymalarky - 6/1/2012 11:12:57 PM

Yay! How did you manage pain-wise so close after surgery? It's great that you enjoyed the whole family.

26953. judithathome - 6/1/2012 11:20:19 PM

I still have a lot of discomfort. The SUV we rented didn't ride as smoothly as my car so I didn't go out sight-seeing with them...every bump in the road was like a knife thrust...but other than that, I did okay.

Still getting more tired than I'd like but it's improving daily.

26954. arkymalarky - 6/12/2012 11:24:35 AM

Finally, rain! Can't remember the last time I woke up to a thunderstorm. Well before school was out. At least mid May

26955. arkymalarky - 6/12/2012 11:25:10 AM

Stan corrected me. It was April.

26957. arkymalarky - 6/12/2012 11:30:49 AM

I'm testing autocorrect. I posted we're all good and it said we're all ghosts. Stan said it doesn't do that without asking and I said no way. Of course when I try to show him it doesn't happen.

26958. arkymalarky - 6/12/2012 11:31:22 AM

Grrr

26959. arkymalarky - 6/17/2012 4:30:44 PM

Happy Fathers Day!!

26960. thoughtful - 6/17/2012 5:49:53 PM

happy fathers day to all you dads out there!

26961. judithathome - 6/17/2012 6:34:42 PM

A dear old friend of mine sent me this link: haven't read it yet but he's a writer and felt this was something worth reading on Father's Day:

What We Lose....
