I've had three cats so far over the last 20 odd years and none have shown any sign of being a shoulder cat although especially my current one, 'Nightling', looks for lots of attention from me.
This wouldn't be my favorite kind of 'shoulder cat'. Looks like the cat is unstable (might want to use claws a lot to hold on) and I wouldn't want to turn my head if I were this guy and catch an unexpected whiff.
I would prefer a cat that drapes itself around my neck. I tend to like oriental shorthairs anyway, so maybe my next cat should be one of those. A long skinny one:)
And I am probably not an ideal candidate for a shoulder cat either. My shoulders are about a foot farther from the ground than most peoples' and my neck is rather thick plus I'm still more active than average.
