27622. arkymalarky - 8/31/2013 3:08:53 PM I like it! Blues is one of those things I feel like I'm supposed to like and I just really don't, but jazzy blues like that I really like a lot. 27623. judithathome - 8/31/2013 5:12:35 PM You want relaxation, try Gregorian chant. 27624. Jenerator - 9/3/2013 8:41:52 PM Hilarious read in the New York Times!!!!
Explaining Twerking to Your Parents 27625. wabbit - 9/11/2013 1:56:54 PM Happy birthday to us - 14 years old today. Unbelievable. 27626. Ms. No - 9/11/2013 3:56:49 PM Yes, indeed!
I just realized that I've known some of you for going on 17 years.
I got to the Fray in August of '96, and I still remember the issue that brought me in. It was the Florida teens who had removed the stop-sign from the intersection and a fatal accident resulted. I don't remember who all was involved in that discussion other than Trialshark, but I was hooked after my first foray.
I remember when we got sidelined and sent into the dusty basement of Slate and then when they gave us the kill date and we launched off on our own. Fourteen years later, we aren't nearly the hoppin' joint we were, but I'm still glad to know you all, and I still value my time here.
Big sloppy kisses, y'all! 27627. arkymalarky - 9/11/2013 6:22:08 PM Well said! Yay us! 27628. wabbit - 9/11/2013 7:41:58 PM I joined the Fray when the first Big Blue chess game was happening. Can't remember where I posted first, do remember that webfeet arrived at about the same time, maybe the same week.
Those early days make me think of how folks are today with cellphones, can't put them down. Where did we find the time to post as often as we did? 27629. Wombat - 9/11/2013 8:51:06 PM I first joined the Fray--jeez--in 1993(?), I think. I had a boring, undemanding job, so it was easy to find the time to post... 27630. arkymalarky - 9/11/2013 10:48:49 PM that was me. The easiest teaching schedule I ever had.
I guess before WWF and Facebook we all had nothing but time on our hands. 27631. arkymalarky - 9/11/2013 10:50:51 PM my dad told me about the Fray, and he had been called an idiot I guess by PE. So he thought I might like it. And my first post I remember was correcting rubber ducky whatever he went by then for abbreviating AR is AK or something like that when he was ripping on Bill Clinton. That had to be sometime in the 90's I just don't remember. 27632. Wombat - 9/11/2013 10:57:59 PM Did I pass along the juvenile stunt about telling someone to tap their head while saying the postal abbreviation for the state of Montana? 27633. arkymalarky - 9/11/2013 11:01:08 PM No..... 27634. Wombat - 9/12/2013 12:24:36 AM Try it. 27635. arkymalarky - 9/12/2013 2:54:09 AM Aaaaah, my head really is just that. Chalk it up to seventh graders. I'll have to try that on them tomorrow. 27636. Wombat - 9/12/2013 3:03:05 AM Heh. 27637. Trillium - 9/12/2013 9:46:21 PM arghhhh. :) MT
I didn't sleep last night, that's how I feel too... it is so weird for me to be unable to sleep. Who is this person, anyway? surely it's not me, I've always slept like a rock as soon as the lights went off! 27638. Wombat - 9/12/2013 11:03:17 PM There are some others... 27639. alistairconnor - 9/13/2013 2:37:32 PM Oh Hello! I missed our birthday!
Funny thing. You'd think it would be unmissable. I married my ex-wife the day Chernobyl blew up, and never missed an anniversary... but 11 September, that's two different, important dates somehow.
I suppose I must have signed up to the Fray in 1995. It all seemed to be about OJ Simpson at the time. 27640. iiibbb - 9/15/2013 10:08:42 AM I originally tested for and always thought that I was an INTJ. I've come to the realization that I turned into an INTJ... or I always was one. 27641. judithathome - 9/15/2013 7:26:07 PM Okay...I'll admit it...I have no idea what that means.
