Imagine yourself having a business where you price things at a point YOU think is fair to both you and the customer and then everyone who walks in the door wants you to cut that price "just for them" and will walk out the door and possibly publicize the fact you aren't willing to "deal" to anyone who might be thinking about coming into your shop...it's a delicate line to tread.
He many never sell those things you were interested it...that might give you a secret thrill but enough interactions like that for HIM will shut his his business down. It's not easy being a small business person.

I have spent some time hanging out with my Daughters -- a rare treat to see them both together. Elder Daughter scammed me out of a new laptop for Christmas -- she needs a fast machine to do video editing, so I got her a Toshiba with a Pentium i7. She convinced me that it was important for her career, and she couldn't possibly afford it on her own. Which is true, but still a scam, since she later confessed that she has blown all her babysitting income on a ticket to Brazil for spring break...
That's the danger, you give them a taste for travel, and they soon have friends to visit all over the world. (She's also going to Serbia for winter break, but at least she's doing that on the cheap.) She's finishing her Batchelor of Communications degree in Avignon, and looking further afield.
Her 6 months in Finland seems to have given her a taste for pasty complexions, lousy climate and national drinking problems -- she is now envisaging a four-year photography degree at the Glasgow School of Art.
