With that preamble, I was trying to rid myself of an earworm, Harry Nilsson's (a personal fave) Remember. Sadly, once the higher keys hit, I butchered the song. No biggie, who can hear me but the two cats, right? I wish I had a video camera running, the distress on their faces was priceless. I think of him almost every time I brush my teeth...back when Gerald Ford (!) was president, Letterman made what was, for me, his last funny comment: Ford was urging austerity and Letterman suggested we could save money on dinner mints by drying out the little gobs of toothpaste that dropped into the sink when we brush out teeth.
