Fallon is the funniest person on TV.

Conan/Fallon/Stewart/Colbert... in no particular order.

27859. judithathome - 2/21/2014 6:51:47 PM

I'd agree if you dropped Conan off and replaced him with Craig Ferguson.

27860. iiibbb - 2/21/2014 8:14:46 PM

Craig is also very funny.

27861. arkymalarky - 2/22/2014 12:56:06 AM

I agree. Interesting no one said Letterman.

27862. judithathome - 2/22/2014 7:02:43 AM

He irks the shit out of me.

27863. arkymalarky - 2/22/2014 7:06:40 AM

Me too. He just oozes smartass. Bro loves him. I don't get it.

27864. iiibbb - 2/22/2014 2:52:12 PM

Smartass is funny

Letterman is past his prime

He used to do some fun stuff

27865. arkymalarky - 2/22/2014 6:10:14 PM

Smartass can be funny. When it's not it's just bitter and sour and condescending. Leno could strike me that way. Sometimes Bill Maher does, even tho I usually agree with him. Stewart manages to hilariously eviscerate stupidity without snark. And Colbert is a class unto himself.

27866. judithathome - 2/22/2014 7:17:58 PM

Letterman used to be funny....in his stand-up, hungry days.

I think of him almost every time I brush my teeth...back when Gerald Ford (!) was president, Letterman made what was, for me, his last funny comment: Ford was urging austerity and Letterman suggested we could save money on dinner mints by drying out the little gobs of toothpaste that dropped into the sink when we brush out teeth.

27867. judithathome - 2/22/2014 7:18:40 PM

Arrrgggh...OUR teeth.

Fred Armison wore a Devo sticker on his guitar strap out of respect and solidarity for those of us who are sad about Bob 2's passing. Armison just got even cooler, IMO.

27869. arkymalarky - 2/27/2014 12:59:08 AM

oh how neat! I missed it. I've been sick and haven't been staying up. I love Devo

27870. iiibbb - 2/27/2014 8:06:09 PM

One of the most tiring interactions I have with people in life is how they think I should raise my kids.

27871. judithathome - 2/27/2014 8:35:09 PM

I know what you mean...I had so many people chide me for not "making" my son go to college. He ended up making over $75 an hour, owning his own house before he was 30, and acreage in another state...debt free all his life and a priceless influence on his adopted daughter.

Tell then to stick it up their ass.

27872. Jenerator - 2/27/2014 11:39:46 PM

iiibbb,

Who's judging your parenting? Some people are rude!

27873. arkymalarky - 2/27/2014 11:59:21 PM

Make them exciting with your responses!
Or comments on their successes. I pretty much despise self-anointed experts of any stripe.

27874. Wombat - 2/28/2014 12:45:46 AM

The response that I always wished I had the nerve to give was "if I want childrearing advice from total strangers, I'll be sure to ask you."

27875. iiibbb - 2/28/2014 4:48:22 AM

Someone posted an article that passed my facebook way and said the government should do something about XXX.

This was the end of my post---

The one thing I've learned since having children... for any of the myriad of decisions you may have to make as a parent. Whether to supplement breastfeeding, co-sleeping, vaccinations, circumcision, when to start solid food, what to feed them, how to diaper train, what diapers to use, whether to put in ear tubes, what toys to give them, where they can play, screen time, what car seat to use, what direction should it face, how old to do this that and the other thing etc etc. Someone, somewhere, has devoted a blog or website on why that decision you've made is going to kill/maim/harm your baby. It is is quite fucking ridiculous.

So I'll give you the same advice I give anyone if you're going to have a baby. Get a pediatrician you trust... make the best decisions you can make... screw everyone else.

The only parental opinion that I have is that if your kid doesn't have mitigating circumstances, they should be vaccinated. After that, I won't judge.

27876. iiibbb - 2/28/2014 4:48:54 AM

It's been hyperbolic ever since. I bailed out.

27877. arkymalarky - 2/28/2014 5:18:13 AM

Ah, the facebook vortex.
