Doing well, thanks, Arky. Feeling better and more energetic than I have in years. Quite a few doctor visits but nothing that I'm particularly concerned about. Getting injections for back pain that seem to be working and cataract implants are great. I can ditch the glasses. Had my fourth (count 'em, four) colonoscopy last week. Dr. Ragu must know my backside well by now. Typical geezer stuff I guess. Did you ever have the septoplasty? I was out of service there for awhile and did't hear.

After following you and other moties and your Fit experiences I got spouse a Fitone at Christmas. I made sure others were around lest she throw it at me but she took to the program with zeal Perhaps too much so. Lots of chard, kale, and other greens on our table. But she is proud of her shrinking waistline and dragging out scarcely worn clothes. A good thing. Thanks for the inspiration.

The weight loss and a new grandchild, our first, have her over the moon. The son's tear down and rebuild project is finally headed to completion, maybe by July he says. I doubt it. Seems like a long time ago I passed on to him tips from Thoughtful. What a task.

Somewhat more exciting news is that the folks next door to the Wisconsin place turnout to have been running a pretty impressive heroin operation. Several arrests. We're hoping for a breakthrough on the year-old breakin and burglary burglary that cost us a nice flatscreen.

Smalltown life is quiet but not boring.

Had my fourth (count 'em, four) colonoscopy last week.

My sympathies go out to you!

I'm having problems in that "area" myself and it's no fun.

That's great about the fitbit Robert! And congrats on the grandbaby! I don't dare eat food like that until I retire. ;)

We had a meth cook up the road from us for a few years and it was really scary. I imagine it will be a lot more secure now.

I think I'm about to have to join AA

Amazon Anonymous

I ordered a pond kit yesterday. Actually, two. One was too cheap not to buy and the other was too cute not to buy. I've noticed a lot of stuff at Amazon fits that description. To cheap or too cute not to buy. Stan informed me yesterday that he's not letting me back in the dollar store. Amazon is like a huge online store. Except a lot of the stuff is really good quality. Although a lot of dollar store stuff is a lot better quality than people act like it is.

Rain! Seldom seen real rain with thunder and water gushing off the roof.

More good news of a different sort from the Wisconsin village. Our heroin-dealing neighbors have been booted by their landlord. The owner is a local good old boy from the neighborhood who was very kind and helpful to spouse's parents. We had jacked him up in the past about his tenants, mostly because of the amount of trash they collected. Our house-watcher said the village hauled away two truckloads of junk. Good riddance to bad rubbish indeed.

The great TV theft remains unsolved. The investigator said they were unable to make a connection next door but that the case remained open. Dum de dum dum...

27945. arkymalarky - 5/8/2014 6:31:21 PM

sometimes it's the customers who are the crooks. That may have been someone who was there an just grabbed your TV on the way. That's what we were the most worried about. So many really creepy people were going up and down the road at that time.

27946. arkymalarky - 5/8/2014 6:31:49 PM

There to buy drugs....

27947. judithathome - 5/8/2014 6:52:15 PM

HA! Glad you clarified!

I remember you telling me once that people might think WE were dealers because we drove a Jag...hahaha!

27948. arkymalarky - 5/8/2014 8:30:10 PM

yeah, actually this guy owned a jag and two cougars. The real animal cougars.

27949. arkymalarky - 5/8/2014 8:32:58 PM

on a serious note, those Motebuds who have been to my parents house know how beautiful it is but how rocky and with a swimming pool and all, and today dad fell. He's conscious but they think he cracked his skull and he bled a whole lot so we're on the way to the emergency room in Hot Springs.

27950. arkymalarky - 5/8/2014 8:33:10 PM

the trauma center.

27951. arkymalarky - 5/8/2014 8:35:57 PM

my kids were so sweet. They called me to the office and I thought it was a parent or something and it was the police department. When I came back to the classroom I had to pack up fast to leave and they were all just really sweet.

27952. alistairconnor - 5/8/2014 9:24:19 PM

Hoping for the best for your father, Arky.

27953. arkymalarky - 5/8/2014 9:46:38 PM

Thank you Alistair. Just talked to him. He's still bleeding and in pain and dizzy but no skull fracture. He'll be here a day or two at least.

27954. judithathome - 5/9/2014 1:30:45 AM

Oh Arky...please give your dad our regards and tell him we're thinking of him! And you guys, too...

I know how much that beautiful pool area scared me as far as walking around...I have balance problems anyhow and was really skitzy about falling there...scary.

Do you think they might get more serious about moving to a more "level" area now?

27955. arkymalarky - 5/9/2014 1:35:57 AM

Thank you Judith! I will. I said I'd never try to do it, but it's ultimatum time and they both realize it now.

27956. Ms. No - 5/9/2014 4:56:19 PM

Best wishes for a speedy recovery --- and maybe it knocked some sense into him so they'll listen to you. ;->

27957. arkymalarky - 5/9/2014 10:25:20 PM

Ha! I certainly hope so.

and I was wrong. He does have a skull fracture, but not by his brain. It's where his ear is.

27958. wabbit - 5/10/2014 12:01:55 AM

Oh geez, please give him my very best - I remember loving their house and wondering how they managed the terrain. It's a beautiful house, but I agree with JaH, maybe it's time for something less challenging.
