I'm game...watched them all and understood them a bit TOO well. ;-)

28128. arkymalarky - 7/26/2014 6:28:29 AM

haha! I love that description 3i.

I never have really gotten the temptation to engage in that sort of thing. I used to tell my principal that I won't stab you in the back. I'll stab you in the front. I hate games that some people play like that, and people, both men and women, played them like crazy where I worked before changing jobs after my school closed. Luckily I stayed out of it because people knew I would say what I thought in front of anybody and put them on the spot. Don't expect me to keep your comments quiet when you're just trying to stir up crap. Play that by yourself. Or with the many other employees who thrive on that sort of shit. Where I work now is a lot more open and direct and laid back, just like I like it.

Happy Birthday Arky!! Hope you have a great day!

28130. judithathome - 7/30/2014 10:29:39 PM

Oh wow...didn't have a clue...add my Happy Birthday, Arks!! And Keoni's!

28131. arkymalarky - 7/31/2014 1:30:07 PM

thanks so much! For my birthday yesterday I got to Colorado driving by myself! Those of you who know me well know what a huge feat that was, even with gps. I felt like bob in what about bob when he went sailing. I followed stan who drove the truck we rented to bring furniture to our little house. So I'm going to be in colorado a couple of weeks! And it is freezing up here!

Knocked off the mirror of the passenger side of my car, dropped my phone and cracked the screen in lowes on the concrete floor, and worst and best, almost lost Mazie, but a wonderful neighbor brought her up to us. If something had happened to her we would pick up and leave. I've never been so relieved to see a little dog.

At Red Rocks waiting for Ray LaMontaigne. Leaving Sunday. Got a lot done on the little house. I'll have to remember how to post pictures when I get home.

Waiting to hear if our family in Hawaii is going to blow away like Dorothy and Toto...

whaaaat ? irving snodgrass has passed away ????? i had not even thought of the name in such a long time yet i can't believe it.

28136. judithathome - 8/8/2014 6:04:08 PM

Yes...it was very shocking. I think Psych Prof might have more details than what is mentioned here...no reason, really, to think that but he is the one who brought it to our attention.

Frankly, I'd rather not know...it's almost too heartbreaking to comprehend.

28137. arkymalarky - 8/8/2014 9:06:59 PM

well, my parents are officially moved out of their old house into a house which is a lot flatter than their old house. And thank goodness they managed to get all that done with me out of state.

PE,

Like Judith said, we got info from PP and Diva and I'm not sure where there is any more info. Diva posted a bit more specific info in the perfect world.

28139. arkymalarky - 8/8/2014 9:27:16 PM

I've I had a lot of shifts in focus since the old fray and early mote days, but I still thought of irv often. Some people in your life just stand out that way no matter how much you lose touch with them.

Arx,

How was Ray LaMontagne? I like him a lot.

28141. alistairconnor - 8/9/2014 4:44:26 PM

Looks like I've been away. Thanks, Wabbit, for the pan, but in my last three places I've been meaning to get a gas stovetop because electricity sucks. For cooking. The induction rig is at Madame's place (which I thought I would be housesitting while she was back home in Morocco but we had a fight and I'm back at my place). Here I've got a halogen stovetop. All nice and clean but just a bit sucky for cooking with.

In other news...

There is a demon in my bookcase.

A djinn, actually. She's been there for four hours now, glaring out at me. Not actually born spontaneously from my evil books, but left here by my stepson, gone on holiday with his mother.

28143. arkymalarky - 8/9/2014 6:55:39 PM

He was great No! Bought a CD since I was not familiar with him, but he's one of Tommy's all time favorites. Mose and stan prefer amos lee but I liked lamontaigne better. The opening act I did not care for at all. They were Belle Brigade and played what seemed like forever to me. It was over an hour and a half before lamontagne ever even came out and started.

The climb to gen admin seats was unreal. I love red rocks but it ain't for the faint of heart--literally.

28144. arkymalarky - 8/9/2014 9:37:47 PM

Guess PE didn't have any interesting anecdotes or memories to share.

Waiting at the Ned laundromat for clothes to dry and being sad to leave but looking forward to having cell and internet at home, to say nothing of a laundry room.

Alistair, I looked at that pic at least 3 times before I saw the cat. Very cool.

28145. judithathome - 8/10/2014 5:55:58 PM

I'm wondering if that is a copy of Sex And The City on the top shelf!

Great cat, by the way.

28146. Ms. No - 8/10/2014 8:48:05 PM

Hmmm, I'm not familiar with Amos Lee or Belle Brigade. The closest I've ever come to Red Rocks is listening to the U2 Album: Under a Blood Red Sky.

I feel ya on the laundry --- I've been carting mine to Sudz Yer Dudz for the last 8 years, and I'm damn tired of it, but I like my place too much (and I'm too lazy and cheap) to move somewhere that's got laundry.
