28424. arkymalarky - 2/8/2015 7:03:48 PM Where is our snow bunny? Wonder if she's going to be able to leave the house before March! 28425. robertjayb - 2/8/2015 8:23:22 PM Me, I'd be denned up...
BOSTON (AP) - Winter-weary New England, which has been battered recently by a series of major snowstorms, braced Sunday for even more. Light flurries fell in the morning, but the "long duration" storm is expected to intensify on Sunday night. The National Weather Service issued winter storm warnings for central New York, the western Catskills and much of New England through early Tuesday. 28426. wabbit - 2/8/2015 8:24:58 PM Ended up with 26" from the Jan 28 NEaster, then got another 14" on Feb 1-2, and it's snowing again today. We're expecting 12-14" between now and early Tuesday.
In other news, I have cats again! Felicia, 10+ years old and way fat, was in the shelter for four years. For all her time in the shelter, Felicia is very optimistic, chatty and generous with head butts and love bites and is making herself right at home. Jessica, 7 years old or so, is very withdrawn and depressed, was there for 2+ years. Jessica is going to need time, but she can have all the time she needs. She'll come around, they all do. Shelby is 3-4 years old, was shutting down after about 9 months in the shelter. Shelby is exploring today. She's not sure about me yet, but she is giving me the slow blink. I'm very happy to have them. 28427. arkymalarky - 2/8/2015 8:26:57 PM yay wabbit! It's a good time to have cats with all that snow. 28428. wabbit - 2/8/2015 8:37:24 PM Yep, perfect timing. I picked them up in Fall River where many of the streets are narrow, up and down hills and make for tough navigating. They really don't have room for any more snow. My 2003 Kia Sorento is handling the weather conditions beautifully. I just have to be careful of the jabronies.
Felicia and Shelby are enjoying watching the snow and the birds. They either didn't have a window or one with a view in the shelter rooms. 28429. arkymalarky - 2/8/2015 9:59:08 PM Evidently we will have a snowless winter. 64°f 28430. judithathome - 2/8/2015 10:15:48 PM I just have to be careful of the jabronies.
Welcome to Texas! If there is snow on the ground, everyone switches to instant JABRONIE-MODE...
Congrats on the new family!
28431. arkymalarky - 2/9/2015 1:58:00 AM Picked our first jonquils today. Earliest we ever picked jonquils was a few years ago on January seventh. This is much more normal. 28432. wabbit - 2/9/2015 9:34:21 PM About 12-14" so far and still snowing. 28433. arkymalarky - 2/9/2015 11:24:50 PM Wow. 28434. judithathome - 2/10/2015 1:21:51 AM Okay...when do we come to see the jonquils in bloom in that cool little town? 28435. arkymalarky - 2/10/2015 1:38:54 AM Koch bros are doing a "controlled" burn and I can't breathe even in my house. It's smoky everywhere, at least the last twenty minutes of my commute.
That kind of blanket willful pollution should be illegal. I'm furious. 28436. arkymalarky - 2/10/2015 1:40:58 AM Any time! But not today or tomorrow unless you bring a gas mask!
The jonquil festival is really kind of late for them. Old Washington is really prettiest in early March. Y'all come on! 28437. arkymalarky - 2/10/2015 1:41:50 AM The festival is at the end of March. 28438. arkymalarky - 2/10/2015 3:55:31 AM Nvm wrt fire. This one is a for real wildfire. Hard to tell around here. They control burn a lot. Still can't breathe but I'm not mad. 28439. judithathome - 2/11/2015 7:50:33 PM Well, I wasn't fishing for an invite...I doubt we could come then, anyhow, because Keoni is assistant teaching high school kids golf 5 days a week...he's so into it! He's actually TEACHING them...the asst. football coach who is assigned the task was teaching them incorrectly. Keoni noticed, showed him some corrections, and now...my husband is teaching 8 kids how to play golf...correctly. 28440. arkymalarky - 2/11/2015 8:17:02 PM Good for him!
We always love to see you!
I work close to there and Stan and I are going Sunday. Jonquils are everywhere here, just 35 miles from our place, where there were only a few.
28441. judithathome - 2/11/2015 9:15:16 PM I remember them when we went with y'all a few years back...beautiful!! Cool little town, too. 28442. wabbit - 2/13/2015 1:56:56 AM Oh, to see jonquils.
It's snowing again, only a couple inches tonight, but expecting over a foot Saturday night through Sunday. No idea where the roads crews will put it. Thankful that Monday is a holiday. Hoping the roof at work holds up. 28443. arkymalarky - 2/13/2015 2:43:38 AM My lands.
