She's 99% minus a kidney. We made the right call in that case. In this case the tissue death is obvious, but we still got more than one dr to say that there is no hope for meaningful recovery.

Trust me, I don't mean to be blunt but when you step up and give the okay, you will not only understand but SEE that it was for the best.
Ask for a specialist to check his brain function (as I see you may have already done)...listen to what that person has to say.
